I want to applogise to everyone.

Yes I have been asking a very, very much questions and I appolgise for being so dumb and inexperienced.

To those who have given me advice, truly I do apprecite your help.

I'm not technically smart and just do not understand what I read on th sites I've been sent to.
Anything to do with 'wordpress' just totally goes right over my head and so many blog building places seem that they all go to wordpress for creation.

<Not asking for pity here, just trying to explain my situation>

I want to create some blogs to get started in the business. I am kind of tied down with what I can and can't do. I have to be here to watch over my terminal dad 24/7. I do not watch those 'soap opera' shows during the day, so the computer is really all I have to keep me busy durying the small bit of time my dad doesn't need me.

Now I have not bought my own domain and hosting yet. I want to make sure I can do webmastering before I do.

Made a mainstream site, but was told it ould'nt go anywhere because who is going to buy anything from my sponsors on it, when they can get the stuff right there in town theirselves. Plus it was ugly.

Many of us are more than willing to help you anyway we can. To the point that I am almost sure that someone here will give you some temporary hosting and maybe a loan of some domain space.

Some of us are also more than willing to repeat what we say in 5000 different ways until you "get it".

BUT. You are going to have to participate. You need to speak up if yopu don't understand something. You need to read and consider the answers.

If you want some one on one help, I am more than willing to do whatever I can (within reason) and I think people like Markul(above me here) are also willing to give what they can.

The only thing most of us ask is that you really try your best, give it a good effort and occasionally throw in a thank you.

The only thing I am really upset with you about is the fact that you start threads but you do not come back to them.

Yes, once you have signed up and installed it there is a menu at the top and you hit add contact from the menu and then do a look up on the icq number and click on it.

It seems from what I see reading around the board a lot use ICQ.

I just don't know who to trust. I don't want to get caught up in somme spam scan or even pick up some king of virus.

Many in adult use icq. We are dinosaurs in that way but after years and years we have all our contacts in one place and we don't want to have to move them around mch.

Who to trust is an issue sometimes. I can't give you any decisive answer on how to choose whether to trust or not. You can take some steps though:

1. Search their name on the board. See if they have been called out for scamming or stealing.

2. Once you have one trustworthy person you are dealing with ask them for their pinion of another person.

3. If they are asking you for money, beware, unless it is an actual service that you are interested in that they are offering for that money. In that case ask on the board about the product and the rep of the person selling it to you.

4. Like out on the streets, keep your eyes and ears open.

Now. From what I have seen on this and other boards, you have been trying to get started for quite a while now. It does not appear(from your questions) that you have made much headway. If that is true then you are doing something wrong. Not sure what that something is but the only way I know of to fix a problem is first to identify the problem.

Sorry about what you have going on with your Dad btw. That can be very stressfull so it would seem to me that we need to find a way to make this web stuff be a de-stresser for you. Something that you can look forward to doing. You probably do not need more stress in your life right now (well, I guess none of us needs more stress lol).
