Anyone know of a free WP theme like this?

Hello. I was playing around with Blogger's dynamic themes and made this: http://emo-porn.blogspot.com/

I was wondering if anyone knows of a free WP plugin/theme that arranges the posts in the same way with top and bottom widget support? Basically posts as images only on the index with random sizes automatically based on the first image in the post and takes up minimal space. Or is there a way to convert a Blogger dynamic theme to WP?

Thanks :upsidedow

btw, I used Spooky Cash FHGs for the test. Great content, AmeliaG :thumbsup

If you need something like that cloned into WP, let me know! ;)

It's not free, but I got a copy of this to use on a client project. I really liked it.

I am also interested in this type of WP theme. Photo grid layout with infinite scrolling.

I use similar themes to these on Tumblr and they are very effective with a much lower bounce rate and higher time on site than my regular WP blogs.

Example From Tumblr

I'm not sure if you can get the images to popup, but the rest can be done using the pagelines lite theme.

There is a bit of a learning curve with pagelines, but what you need to do is upload your pictures in the "box" section of the admin area instead of the posts area. You then have to configure your blog template to use boxes.

You can do this by going to the "drag&drop" area which is located inside the "pagelines" tab in the wordpress admin area.

1. Select "Page Templates" for template area
2. Select "Blog" as your type of page
3. Replace the "content" tab, in your active selection area, with a "boxes" tab

Now you must configure these boxes the way you'd like them to appear on your page. You can configure your boxes in the pagelines "Page options" area.

1. Select "blog" page
2. Click the "boxes" category in the settings panel
3. Under "box setup options" you can select your "box set", and the amount of boxes you'd like to display per row
3. Set "box image options" to show "only the image, no text", and enter the max size for these images.

There are a few extra steps, but this should get you started.

Thanks everyone for the replies and theme suggestions! :upsidedow

I think I can modify the functions.php of Tanzaku to do exactly what the Blogger theme does. If you notice, each image post goes from left to right in either a 1x1, 1x2, 2x1, or 2x2 block size. All I'd have to do it first determine how many single squares will fill a horizontal row without using a horizontal scrollbar based on screen width with variable widths but the same throughout after calculating that. Then, one by one left to right, randomly choose which size format to make the post then declare each box space needed for that post, then add the post with a random zoom for the thumbnails then go to the next. The next post will see which square space is available and make another size, checking every square needed before declaring that post space and going to the next.

If I make a WP theme like that, I'll make it free with a backlink or two or something like that :upsidedow

When you're done, let us check it out. Keep up the good work.
