greentea 02-14-2003 08:04 PM

They wouldent keep running them and paying top dollar if they werent.

I mean..we got a few used car commercials here in Charlotte....that are just.. OMG DEAL DEAL ITS A BARGAIN NO MONEY DOWN NO PAYMENTS TILL 2010!!! WE'RE FUCKIN DEALIN'

Oh wait..we got another one that is mocking the "WE'RE DEALIN'" guy with "WE'RE HEALIN" and its a white guy that looks like vanilla ice who's smackin ppl's heads like he's a preist sayin that he's healin their bad credit lol

The best was "Mel Farr, Superstar, for a far better deal".

He was the black dude from Detroit that wore a cape like Superman.

After all these years I still can't get his jingle out of my head.

I think he got busted for turning back odometers or something.

I think they are probably most effective on people who can't spell and don't know the difference between "affective" and "effective."

The California Car Dealer.

Cal Worthington.

a car dealership for over 50 years!

He has wild animals on his commercials not so much since hes really old now but the commercials all are reruns of him riding donkey giraffess n shit.

http://www.calworthington.com/

'Cal Worthington has been in the car business for 52 years, and has probably sold more cars and trucks than anyone in the world. Throughout this entire period of time, he and his staff have dedicated themselves to fair and honest attempts to make sure you get the best possible deal. Cal's slogan has always been, "I'll stand on my head to beat anybody's deal," and he's proved it time and time again.'

That guy rocks...

"The dealer, Mel Farr, the former Detroit Lions football player, leases the cars to anyone who can come up with at least $50 a week. The catch is that a payment is due every Friday night, and customers must pay up each week to get the code they need to punch into a device attached to the dashboard. Otherwise, the car stays parked."

It's sad, where I am the local dealership owners pimp out their children on tv to sell their cars. Trying to be all cute.. They probably get a granny or two to fall for it though...
