Google EMD makes domain names not worth much

Google EMD means Exact Match Domains No Longer Rank As Well.

Thus domains that were once expensive such as say sex.com in theory may be worth much less.

EMD's are still worth good money and will be usable. I'd say this change will only have a minor effect. I dobut they will be cracking down on strong EMD's.

Man. some people really know how to misunderstand G. If you think sex.com lost value because it is an EMD, you do not get it.

AllAboutCams 09-30-2012 08:59 PM

Only idiots will think that. The rest of us will enjoy what exact match domains with QUALITY SITES ON THEM in extensions that Google doesn't hate (com/net/org) do for SEO and will gladly take the names you start ignoring.

Exactly. The G update hit mostly thin content sites that focused on longtails. Anyone can still do well with EMD longtails as long as they use theme clustered content and decent 'natural-looking' backlinks. From the looks of it, even this recent update works on a dilution model.

The sky isn't falling, folks........... Not yet at least.

Not at all only thin longtails. They fucked almost all exact match not just longtails that are not .com's.
