CCBill password sharing protection

Hi All,

So after being up and running for a few months now I realise CCBill do not block login details if they are being shared. They told me they only deal with fraud and password sharing is my responsibility.

What methods can I use to identify shared login details?

Thanks in advance.

P.S. Strongbox website is down and pennywize website has not been updated for 3 years.

There are a few programs out there. Password Sentry https://www.password-sentry.com/ is one of them that has a flat rate and doesn't charge by the month.

I recommend: http://www.proxigence.com

If your talking about multiple users using the same pw to log on and view your site. Theres are scripts you could use to limit ip address logging on at the same time. For example, if your script calls to limit to 3 ip address then when the 4th new ip logs on it automatically logs out 1 ip. You can even write the script so that after so many different ip it automatically voids the PW and sends an email letting the owner of the PW that his PW was logged with so many different IP.

If you have cPanel you can also try Leech Protect. Although I?m not sure if it will work with the CCBill htaccess file or not. It may only work with the server generated htaccess file. But you can read up on it if you have it on your server.

phantom frog, proxypass from proxigence, password sentry and strongbox, are all current and good with different aspects and prices. If you have just the one site go with a one-off payment model, multiple sites i recommend proxypass. phantom frog is good for the end user as they can reset their own user details, apply for new ones automatically so you don't need to get involved on a daily basis

We use Strongbox

One of the best things I have done :)

The Strongbox site should be back up within two hours. I'm on the way to the datacenter now to see what the problem is.

i would contact your host first and see if they have a free solution that you may use, if not, proxy pass worked well for us in the past. that was years ago.

I was going there for some info a few hours ago and the site wouldn't load. I though it was my ISP, thanks for the update! I'll check it out tomorrow.

I recommend phantomfrog personally. Bills support is first rate and goes many more miles to help out than he needs to. Top script and well worth every cent

Hmmmmm indeed.

Also makes you wonder how those mysterious users end up in your pass file that you have no records of a sale for.

Phantom Frogs rocks. I also hear good things about Strong Box.

:thumbsup yup I've used their Proxy Pass for many years. I've tried pennywize, and strongbox in the past but for the price and ease of use proxy pass is my fav

dgraves 09-30-2012 05:27 PM

I started out using Pennzwize, then switched to Proxy Pass but I wanted something more automated that would allow members to be able to help themselves and have the ability to generate a new password. With Phantom Frog they get 24/7 support.
