Here's a hint, idiot, to get you started on a subject you know absolutely nothing about : He wasn't talking about free as in no cost, he was talking about having the freedom to see what is in code, understand it, learn from it, change it to meet your needs better; rather than being locked into whatever a vendor puts in it, or restricts you to do with it.
If you don't even grasp that, you sure as hell aren't going to get your water-filled head around anything deeper.
And whatever anyone thinks of Stallman or GNU -- and I'd bet money you, and every other idiot here who thinks like you, have happily benefited from it in some way -- someone with Stallman's obvious and well-known credentials and resume being written off as an "idiot" by an irrelevant internet nonentity calling himself "pornopete" is pretty fucking hilarious.
