Mysterious Affiliate Clicks
Over the past few hours I'd had an incredible number of affiliate clicks, but there is no evidence of the visits elsewhere. The clicks are distributed around all the programs I promote.
Has anyone had this before? |
had this last week with 1 program where I noticed 30k more that day out of the blue. Unproductive though.

Same here, no sales from it. The only time I had as many clicks this this before was when my site was in a national newspaper, so I thought "here we go again", but nope, traffic is the same as usual. |

If you have a country breakdown of the hits, are you noticing The Netherlands? I have been getting hit with waves of unproductive Netherlands traffic in past 72 hours out of nowhere and not induced - I don't target that country.

Ok this is a crazy tangent of thought, but if you look up Google Trends for the term "we hate porn" you will see that searches for that term skyrocketed during the period of time leading up to the last presidential election in 2009. Just thinking if history is repeating and searches for that term are leading to your exact keyword driven site. But you are saying "affiliate" hits not "general" hits to your site, right ?
|
Like you say, it would definitely make sense if they were website hits. There must be some groups of people who are furious that my site has the top ranking for this term, most "We Hate Porn" groups are anti-porn, they genuinely hate porn. I half-expect that one day one of these groups/lobbies will try to take the name off me. :2 cents:
