Obama: 237 - Romney: 196 - Toss-up: 105

Electoral College Projections have Obama with a decent lead. It all comes down to the swing states.

It all depends on how they weight or skew the data. It is interesting.

Historically this poll has been highly accurate. It's a composite of multiple polls which reduces the margin of error.

Your vote goes no where anyway. Voting is just something to trick us into thinking our voices matter. The electoral college decides the president and those are usually tallied up long before any voting takes place.

I totally agree. I personally know someone who gets all of their news from the NY Post and Fox, and thinks that Obama is the worst president in the history of the United States. Brainwashed.

I think this chart hasn't been updated lately. CNN hasn't updated theirs at all and has the same numbers. But if you look at other scoreboards they have more updated polls and show the percentages. The Huffpo's is pretty good but I always think they are a bit bias. They have Obama at 332 and Mitt at 191. Talking Points Memo is about the same as HuffPo's numbers.

You know things aren't going good for Romney when today there was a story about how the republicans are putting together their own website that shows the "real" polling numbers. When you read how they come up with these numbers it is pretty obvious they are just making things up.

They aren't really changing and haven't changed much for months.

Check this site out. Look at the graph in the upper right hand corner. This guy is a statistician and has pretty much dead on in the last few presidential elections. He shows Obama has projecting to win between 295-315 electoral votes since the first of June. There are some jumps and dips that likely came from conventions, but overall Obama has had a steady lead for a while.

Ideally people would always vote for the candidate who best represents them. Although I can see why some people wouldn't. After all isn't that partly how Hitler came to power -- The votes were split three ways and in doing so it gave the Nazi party an edge? Still, ideally we would all be able to vote for the best man (or woman) regardless of the choices presented before us. I have a lot of respect for anyone who will vote for a third party and stick to their principles regardless of the pressure to do otherwise. If we all did this things would be better.

In a perfect world if enough people took 20 minutes out of their valuable time they spend posting about their daily bullshit activities on Facebook and watching Honey Boo Boo and read a guy like Johnson's site they might find themselves agreeing with him, or for that matter, some other third party candidate. If they then voted for that person we could be in a situation where that candidate might end up getting 5% of the popular vote which would qualify them to get the matching government money for the next election. With that money they could buy more ads and work on growing their grass roots base and potentially this 3rd party might actually make some noise.

As it sits right now my vote is pretty much useless. Obama is going to win my state easily. I can't for a million reasons bring myself to vote for Romney so I'm voting Johnson because I would like to see a 3rd party and because I am pretty libertarian and agree with him on many points.

The electoral college system is outdated and useless and it disenfranchises a lot of voters. It needs to be done away with it. If those who don't really like either Obama or Romney voted 3rd party we would have a 3rd party, but about half the people in this country are so apathetic they can't even be bothered to vote once every few years so it likely won't be happening any time soon.

We do not need "leaders" who turn around and abuse their power. Government is not their to serve and protect you!

If you do not vote and hate the government then why do you wonder why the numbers keep changing? Why are you even following this?

Funny thing about Rasmussusen is they're known to be republican biased lol.

RealClearPolitics aggregate polling data has it 265-191-82.

Ahh the wasted vote bullshit. Voting your beliefs is never a mistake. Holding your nose and voting for the perceived lesser of two (dem/rep) evils? Mistake IMO...

arock10 09-26-2012 04:35 PM

vote for johnson if your vote doesn't matter (thanks electoral college) otherwise vote for who you want to win if you live in the few battleground states that matter
