App development success...

I've been seriously looking into getting into the app game lately. I have some ideas and some capital. I was wondering if anyone has any insight at how much capital for development costs? Also, if anyone has had any success in this area I'd love to hear some success stories. :)

That's not bad IMO. I'm looking to pay something along these lines. Was it successful?

$14 for the base code you can build on from there.

Seriously, depends on your "idea." Most people who come to me asking for an "app" usually ends up with me telling them they are looking to create a web service. Most "apps" nowadays require entire web services to back them. :2 cents:

If you are able to code the app by yourself, you don't have to invest any money. The tools are for free. Of course the learning courve takes a lot of time and maybe the promotion of the app costs some money. In my experience, only the big apps like Angry Birds earn serious money.

Thanks for the share. A lot of stuff out there is already done for you, just need to keep tabs occasionally of what is going on.
