Why did Manwin register their company in Luxembourg?
 

I've asked myself this a lot of times, why did they choose Luxembourg?

Luxemburg has excellent tax and banking privacy laws. If I wasn't living in the US I would register my corp there.

Some of the tax haven countries with higher taxes have tax treaties with other countries which means you can legally declare your companies income in your country of residence.

edit: nevermind, was thinking of lichtenstein. Tax rates aren't that low there.

The privacy aspect most here mentioned is probably only part of it.

Lux has some great rules when it comes to income from certain types of IP (including domains, brands etc). You basically don't pay taxes on 80% of that income.
