A Michigan school has suspended two students who reportedly had sex under a table during class.

Kennedy Middle School in St. Clair Shores, Mich., is conducting an investigation into the inappropriate behavior of two of its students.

Officials say two eighth-grade students were caught having sex under a science lab table in the back of the classroom last week.

The class and teacher were reportedly involved in an exercise, so they didn't notice the students' behavior.

"I've been in this business for 30 years and I'm appalled," said John Brackett, the superintendent of the school district.

Brackett said he hopes parents will use this experience to open a dialogue with their children about sex.

The school plans to hold a forum to help parents discuss the topic with their children, Detroit's WDIV-TV reported.

The science teacher was put on paid leave until the investigation is over.

Police say the two students involved in the incident may face charges.

The teacher is basically getting a temporary suspension since he/she didn't prevent the sex or even notice it was going to happen.

Okay, but does anybody else think that if you are going to punish a teacher then do without paid leave?

Paid leave was most likely given until they investigate everything....happens in police shootings all the time (not that two students fucking in class is th same as a police shooting).

It isn't really a punishment. It's for appearances.

Wow! I cannot imagine being horny enough or having the (metaphorical) balls to do something like that, especially at that age! Of course, at 14, I was too shy to even talk to the boys, let alone touch them! My dad teaches 8th grade science. I can just imagine the look on his face if he ever caught his students doing that (my dad looks like Magnum P.I, if that helps you picture the scenario).

I graduated high school at 18... Age at graduation depends on several factors:
1) If your bithday is before grad day then you will be 18
2) If your birthday is after grad day then you will be 17
3) If you got held back a year or two then you will be older
4) If you got pushed ahead a year or two then you will be younger

I graduated with one person who was 19 & another who was 16. Most of my fellow classmates was 17 & 18...

I remember what I was like at that age. It isn't really a surprise to me. Many more manage without getting caught.
