Malta - Anyone been there?

I'm looking to rent a villa this summer for 1 - 3 weeks for me and a few mates.

Was anyone in Malta before and can recommend me a place?

The villa should obviously be near clubs ;)

Been once a few years ago and the place was a complete shit hole.

Too late for Malta if you want to party.

A week is nice, but wouldnt do more, unless you are on family vacations

What is "this summer"? I am genuinely confused :)

I lived there for a year and enjoyed it. If I were you I'd stay in St Julians, it's the party area and tons of clubs, restaurants and bars for you to have fun in.

I'm not sure you'll get a Villa there, more like an apartment. You'll be lucky to get somewhere nice at this time of year but I'm sure you'll find something.

I really liked Malta, had a blast there, good food, friendly people, amazing weather and tons to do. I highly recommend renting a boat and going up to Comino blue lagoon for the day.

Never been there...

I liked Malta. Not sure if I could live there, but certainly a nice place to spend some time...

What he said!

I've been there for a week and had a great holiday. I stayed in Sliema.

Sorry to break it to yah, but dont waste any money trying to go there... :2 cents:

If you want a nice place for next year start looking in February. April/May time all the students come from all over Europe to settle in and learn English or other languagues. It's very popular for students, the Island has 450,000 people, in Summer there is over 1.2 million people for a 3-4 month period. Available places tend to fill up real fast, we moved there in June/July 2009 and couldn't find anything nice in my budget for 700 euros a month, in the end I had to get a place at 900 euros per month but it was pretty bad ass and a great location so I didn't mind too much.

If you want to do some diving I highly recommend getting the Ferry to Gozo and going to a place called Xlendi, it has some great areas to dive in and caves to go exploring in, you'd love it. There's also nice places to grab food/beers after you are done and watch the sun set right out on the water.

I went about 2 years ago. I am not sure about the club scene. But the Island itself is very nice. Food is very good. And sites are beautiful.

Thanks for the info.

Well I wanted to get there in mid-june (probably from 12th to 24th/26th). There will be all the exchange students hopefully.
I was in Milan this year in April, and there were a lot of foreign students, :winkwink: and Milan itself is just an amazing town.

I thought of maybe renting this villa http://www.holidaylettings.co.uk/ren...ellieha/187760

I would probably call her this winter to reserve it, just to be sure no-one else is going to take it. The only disadvantage of this villa is that it's far away from St. Julians bay :\
