I have blocked Russia and Ukraine because I had too many fraudulent transactions leading to file sharing.

I use Strongbox and Throttlebox which do provide great security tools.
At a time where I was having a big problem with file sharing of our content I started looking closely at our members info trying to ascertain who was sharing. I started noticing a pattern of members signing up with a US persons credit card for example but logging in from Russia or Ukraine. Quite often these credit cards would be in a womans name which is another warning sign that the card details are stolen.
I looked into how many legitimate users were signing up from those countries and there were none at the time, so I decided to block them.
Since then I have seen a 90% (approx.) reduction in file sharing of our content.
The fraudulent signups keep coming through still, but once they remove their proxy to get in the members area Strongbox blocks them.
it may seem like harsh measures for some but it has made my life a hell of a lot easier!

Thanks a bunch BNMedia ! That's what I needed to know! - I've installed StrongBox myself too. Will check for the other one soon and probably will get it too.... if there's any interests to my site of course.

Cheers,
M.

The obvious eastern euro countries. Plus, China, Korea and a few others. If your site will appeal to Vietnamese block the fuck out of them.
