He was on rock center the other night and admitted that all the news programs are pretty much bullshit these days, not just fox. I hate fox news but they make 1 billion dollars a year profit with their fox news format, not only are they not going anywhere, more and more networks are copying them to make money.

Oh.... so liberals still hate conservatives and conservatives still hate liberals and both sides think they are always right no matter what and busy themselves finding snippets of video, news etc to push their agenda is if it is the one and only truth?

Every since the 24 hr new cycle began, news has became infotainment. Ever try to watch actual reporting on facts???? Boring as fuck. You only care about what you agree with. You only want to listen to what you agree with. No one cares about data, statistics or even facts anymore. Journalism used to be about facts, digging up facts, exposing wrong doing etc. There has been no place for that in the USA media for decades. News has changed radically in the last 30 years. Few here are even old enough to know how things have changed since CNN started and the 24hr news cycle came into being. Fox did not create or invent that concept of infotainment. Fox did however, embrace it and run with it and have been more successful than anyone else in this respect.

Bill O'reilly, Glen Beck ... even people like Rush Limbaugh etc are ENTERTAINERS. They aren't successful because of those who believe what they say and those who support them. They are successful because everyone who hates them watches them more, talks about them more, spreads their stories more, posts about them more and so on.

Howard Stern rocketed to fame by being a total fucking moron. His success came from people that hated him, people he pissed off, people he offended, people he made fun of and so on. He was just a nobody fuckwit on the air farting into the mic. As with Oreilly et al, he was clever enough to realize what drove his success - not his "great talent" or that he had amazing things to say, be that he was pissing off the right people who would talk about him day and night. Now he's a billionaire.

Congrats Liberals. You've made Fox News a raging success! How many records does Oreilly hold for the popularity of his show? Isn't his the most watched show on Cable in the USA? You're so dumb to believe its because Conservatives are gathered around the TV hanging on his every word? Of course not, its because his larger audience is Liberal. He doesn't have anything to say but a confident and grating attack on your values and because of that, you've chosen to make him popular. You are the fool. You made him who he is.

The left and right in the US is split roughly 50/50. The reason why Fox News dominates the ratings is they've got not only conservatives tuning in, but also liberals seeking an element of drama in their TV viewing. Some liberals watch shows, read books and view websites because they want to be offended. Conservatives rarely do this.

Howard Stern got famous by being an ass and trying to break every rule and offend everyone he could. I'm not saying thats why he stayed famous but more than anything, he was very juvenile and intentionally trying to offend. Wasn't about him that the phrase "shock jock" came into being?

Just for the sake of debate... ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, and every other news station is in the bag for Obama but claims they are impartial and yet yall are crying bloody murder because 1 network counters their position? Wtf are you bitching about.

I saw the show "Reliable Sources" on CNN Sunday morning.
It's a show that takes a look at the media and how it covers stories from the previous week.

They actually gave props to O'Reilly & Fox News for O'Reilly appearing with Ted Koppel.

They then pointed out that NBC would not allow ANY of the hosts of their MSNBC shows (Ed Shulz, Chris Matthews, or Rachel Maddow) to appear with Koppel on that broadcast because they didn't want to be criticized.

Just goes to show you the hypocrisy of MSNBC and some of the liberal media.

I pretty much disagree with every word out of O'Reilly's mouth.
BUT...he brings Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, Michael Moore, etc. on his show and argues points with them. He also has went on Maher's show, Stewart's show, The View, Letterman, Leno, etc and been crucified by them.
But he has the balls to do that.

Ed Shulz, Rachel Maddow, and Chris Matthews all have guests every day that only agree with them 100% and never, ever put themselves in a position to seriously debate people on the other side of the political spectrum.

Matter of fact, Rachel Maddow was on Bill Maher's show a couple of weeks ago. And Bill had a conservative on the panel. The conservative guy pointed out that Rachel is liberal biased in her reporting.
Oh my fucking God! She went off on him! Got all pissed off and claimed that she is NEVER biased and only reports the truth!
The agitated way she responded was very telling. (especially if you've ever seen her show)

Those are not news shows. You can't tell the difference between news and opinion?

He brings them on his show, because it's good for ratings.. His viewer base wants to hear him tell them off. It's like not having skinheads throwing chairs on Jerry Springer or skanks flashing their tits. The viewer base expects it and he gives it to them.

To a large group of hardcore conservatives Liberal is the same as niger in their mind as they are full of hate and they use the words in the same tone. They only want to see so called liberal on their puppet master's talk show because it makes them feel good when he bickers at them and tells the they are wrong.

Make no mistake about it, Bill O'Reilly show is nothing more that a talk show like Jerry Springer. It might be on the topic of some news event but it sure as hell isn't news.

If you turn to FOX news at any random time of the day, there 's a very good chance there will be 3 dipshits complaining about how Obama is wrecking the country -- as opposed to doing any actual news.

I don't know how O-reilly can even look at himself in the mirror after shoveling all of that FOX horn tooting bullshit at a respected journalist like Ted Koppel.

Koppel must have wanted to laugh out loud, but at least the guy has some class.

And that's exactly why Koppel had O'Reilly on his show. And why Maher has O'Reilly on his show. And why Stewart not only has O'Reilly on his show but is doing a "debate" streaming online with him.

Those are ALL talk shows.

On CNN if I want to watch the "news" reported I feel comfortable watching Cooper or Blitzer...and of course the actual latest news being reported on the top and bottom of the hour.

On Fox, I feel comfortable with Shepard Smith's hour. And the news that is reported on the top and bottom of the hour.

MSNBC does a few news shows in the morning. And reports the news on the top and bottom of the hour.

The rest of it is all "talk shows" and opinion shows designed to get ratings. It's not just Fox News. It's ALL of them.
