Posting to Wordpress from Email.
 

Hi guys,

I have successfully setup posting to Wordpress from regular e-mail.

But it only seems to do basic text.

How can I send a picture attachment from my iPhone by e-mail and have it automatically post to Wordpress?

I thought image attachments are automatically included as thumbnails and multiple images will be turned into a post gallery with email posting. What happens when you try it?

Seems like using xmlrpc.php from wordpress.org fixed their problem

I just want it to be super easy and super seemless from any phone... I want people just to send a simple e-mail with a photo and have wordpress post it.

I don't think you guys are fully understanding... Creating a post with an APP is no problem.... you can add content/ pics/links...whatever.

I want anyone to be able to send an e-mail to a random email and then have it post that to Wordpress...including the photo.

Wordpress Already has this option built in... post by email (general/settings/writing)

But it only posts the text of the e-mail... NOT THE PHOTO Attached.

Some people can fix this problem by emailing their post in text only mode. Have you tried that?

did you try to use the wordpress plugin "postie"?

Is your wp-content/uploads folder set to be writable?

Edit your email in html not plain text, I just sent image with hotmail and it worked. Before I did that any email to post I sent with an image wouldn't post at all though so not the same problem you are having.
