Entitled Paul Ryan sucked off govt tit as a teenager

Paul Ryan appears to be just as much of a hypocrite as the rest of the Right Wingers that seem to love to say one thing and do another.

It seems when his father passed away while he was a teenager he received social security benefits which he used to pay for his college. It appears he was a govt leech long before it was popular for him to cry in outrage about useless deadbeats getting their entitlement money.

He became the man he is today thanks to a helping hand from hard working people in this country whom pay in to social security. His idea of paying back that favor is to push to cut funding to Social Security that would affect about 70% of the people whom receive it.

Paul Ryan the hypocrite? Oh of course not because it's Ok when he gets Govt handouts just not other people..

SS is not a hand out. His father paid into the system and his family should get the money back. Unless you believe SS is a pyramid scheme where you put money in and then the government spends it so someone else has to put money in to pay back your SS? :helpme

Sly 09-21-2012 11:44 AM

Social security benefits that his father earned through working, which he turned into a college education.

Seems to me he is talking about something different…

I guess that's why he wants to cut SS to roughly 70% of the people that receive it.. You know because i'ts their money and they earned it.. It also must be why he wants to raise the age to 68 for retirement then later to 70..

Hey do you really want your parents to work til 70? Would you want to wait til you were 70 to get "your" money?

really, i guess you have never paid any taxes.
if you had, you'd know that you pay into social security from your own salary (matched to some degree by employer), this money is in a government fund which you can use when you retire or if you become disabled or if you die your family can use this money to get by.
some douche bag politicians allowed for "borrowing" from this fund to pay for other things which is why now this fund is getting depleted prematurely and one solution is to push retirement a few years.
This issue is right up there next to healthcare and national debt (unemployment is a minor problem compared to these elephants)
Issues so large that no President want to touch them as in reality, it is tremendously difficult to find a good solution.
Obama did not fix healthcare, he patched it up a little..

Umm yes I've paid SS all my life, so I know exactly what it is. I also understand why it's broken. The problem is, instead of fixing the reason Social Security is broken the Right Wing always wants to reduce payouts.

Bush tried to push this agenda while he was president, McCain was going to push it and now the guy Romney has picked for vice pres wants to utterly gut it and then turn it over to a private firm.

Whom who might these private firms be? Could they be the same bankers that have ruined the country's economy? The same bankers that are responsible for the housing market collapse? The same bankers that got federal bail outs for fucking up with get out of jail free passes while the middle class & poor got stiffed with the bill?

Could it be the same bankers whom just hired Romney's campaign co-chair to be the CEO of one the top banking- industry lobbyist firms?

Can't change Washington from inside now can we...

They take your money, do what they want then steal money from other people. Once the amount of retired people outnumbers those working whom you can steal from, then the ponzi scheme collapses

You dont even pay taxes, why do you care.

You cant undo what was done, only look for a solution going forward.
I cant recall which administration allowed to rip the SS fund but I hope they get chastized in history for doing so.
Going private?
I tell you one thing, I have a private retirement savings and no way in hell i am gonna give those $$ for the government to "invest".
even part socialist countries in Europe run their "government" pension funds like a private sector investment fund, and very successfully.

btw..
a banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella on a sunny day and the minute it rains he wants it back...

My father died in Vietnam when I was a child and my mother and I collected benefits for years. I collected benefits until I was 18. I also used the government for my first home loan and my school loan.

Doesn't mean I was sucking the government titty.

baddog 09-25-2012 12:08 PM

Oh, well if something worked 20 years ago, by all means, just leave it as is.

I was very taken by your post and it brought back long-repressed memories, memories that sometimes I'd like to forget but such memories should never be forgotten. I am very sorry for the loss of your father, am thankful for his service and regret the manner in which our valiant service people were used in the very political way in which they were.

I lost friends in The Nam.

I know the children of friends who died in that war who grew up without fathers and they are still devastated. You availed yourself of nothing that your father did not earn and who deserved even more.

Those who criticize you should get an education about such things and then go fuck themselves really, really hard for a very long time.

Tom_PM 09-25-2012 12:55 PM

All of the "government handouts" that the right wing pretends are rich peoples money "redistributed" to poor lazy louts is earned money from people working and making contributions. Every. Last. One.

The fact that not even a one of those rat bastards that ruined the economy is doing hard time absolutely staggers the imagination.

Not even one.

They not only fucked the country and got filthy rich doing so, but they even had the gall to accept Federal TARP money and then pay themselves added bonuses with that.

WTF?

I think he is joking and at any rate, I prefer to look at his reply that way.

Thanks.

crockett you let your hatred of Republicans lead you straight into a thread backfire!

Don't you think that the IDEAS of the Republicans are bad enough without having to gin up this kind of nonsense?

That seems to be the problem with this election. The Republicans know that Obama is weak on his record so the Democrats want to talk about anything and everything BUT Obama's presidency.

And the Dems know that Republicans are very vulnerable on social issues like gay rights, abortion, etc. so they want to keep everything spotlighted on that.

It'll be interesting to see the debates and if the "moderators" of the debates will ask hard questions of Obama's record or if they will guide it towards abortion and other social issues.

The direction those questions go will determine who "wins" these debates. Romney had to go backwards in his views in order to appease the religious crazies in his party so he is totally vulnerable there with no defense. And Obama's record is shitty and he's totally vulnerable there.
