i used to shoot for BL when they only took film, they are not easy by any means to shoot for, though it looks plain and simple - it can be difficult to obtain especially with iso 100 film. it is very "flat" so you cant use a zoom lens much and have to light for f11.

Your photog does great work, not just decent.. imho.
