PC video card caught fire after installing new power supply

I got my power supply and the freaking video card caught fire it first sparked then poof it really caught fire have you ever heard anything like that?
I took it out and the PC boots up but without a video card can't check if anything else went poof! I thought my power supply was a 400 Watt so I got one well its a 430 Watt could the power supply be too much power and cause this?

Thanks
Tom

your pc should only pull the curent that it needs from the psu, so no its not too powerful.

sounds like maybe the psu sent a big spike of power and blew it up. is it a branded psu or a cheap one?
