These took a huge traffic dive lately....

I had quite a few freehost blogs on sensualwriter and I'm just noticing how bad they've tanked lately. Anyone else seeing the same results here? These have been pretty good for me overall but now they are getting next to no traffic. :Oh crap

LOL, I'm a waste of webmaster space in this beautiful world of interwebs. A plain old fucking L--->OSER, that's me!

Hey cool sig. I need to push that program. I could use a few million dollars worth in joins. :)

Are you actively updating them or letting them sit? I let mine just sit still pretty much.

i'll let you know a little secret
dump all link trades and update as much as you can even 10 times per day and im seeing a big improvement in traffic

Damn, that's risky to try. I'm currently getting less that 100 hits per month on some of the blogs so I guess doing so wouldn't be much of a big deal on some. Have you seen a huge improvement?

I certainly see the logic in doing so with the selfhosted blogs especially with directory submissions once the link is buried. But Not sure I'm grasping the concept with the freehosteds..

This is over the past month tho, not just today. I hardly ever look at these stats but most went from 300-400 hits month to 10-30 hits.

Which traffic sources were the top referrers when they were 300-400 and what are they now? That might answer some of your questions.

Most likely they were google. I like the idea that allaboutcams had but I'm not sure if it will work. Maybe I will try and set a couple at 10 updates per day for a week and see what happens and remove all the links...

i wouldn't try 10 i would start with one for a month

so site one updates between 5-10 per day for the next month

Yes, it can work great, especially with linking in your own blogs only by niche, but can also be risky depending on the current linking situation.

A lot of people say that backlinks aren't as important as before, but that's bs.. Just don't trade links just because the other site has high PR, keep them relevant and SE traffic should be good. :2 cents:

Random tips for a few reasons:
1) Keep your posts per page at 5-15 max...
2) Use alt and title tags for images. title tags for links.
3) Optimize your images, especially if you use height= and width= to reduce size or if the page is loading slow.
4) Submit sitemap (Could be tricky with a blog but doable, PM me for info)
5) Ping and bulk backlinks (bulkping.com mass-ping.com http://www.imtalk.org/cmps_index.php...site-Submitter)
6) Link to older posts on new posts that are relevant and maybe have a 'popular posts' widget in the sidebar.
7) Use broader terms for categories and use more niche terms for tags but try to have at least 4-5 posts per tag and dont use too many tags for better placement.
8) Use things like Feedburner, Twitter, G+, FB, etc.
9) There's always more that you can learn about kw research, very important.

Then learn how to automate with all of the 'rules' that you know :upsidedow

I'll try this with one blog then. I will remove all the links and update 5 times a day for the month and see what happens.
