'Wife of Jesus' reference in Coptic 4th Century script

This is going to upset a few christians:

Quote:

An ancient scrap of papyrus makes explicit reference to Jesus having a wife, according to a renowned expert in Christian history.

Harvard divinity professor Karen King unveiled the 4th-Century Coptic script at a conference in Rome.

She said researchers had identified the words "Jesus said to them, 'my wife'", which might refer to Mary Magdalene.

Christian tradition holds that Jesus did not marry - but Ms King said in early years it was subject to debate.

Alexandria (Egypt) was notorious in the first centuries of Christianity as a place where a number of herecies were born, such as Arianism. It is absolutely no wonder that they have found one more.

Where do we riot? We have to Riot over this!

Jesus lived his life until starting his ministry as a normal Jew. It would of been very abnormal for him not to marry.

Mary washed the feet at a wedding, a task the groom's mother performed.

Jesus provided wine at a wedding, by doing a miracle. The wine at a Jewish wedding is provided by the groom.

The early church and religions pre-dating Christianity were against women priests or religious leaders. A woman's place was at home churning out babies.

The early Christian leaders lied that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute, to keep women inferior to men. Even a natural function like periods is considered by some to make a woman unclean.

Go figure it out.

They'll just ignore it just like they ignore anything new that comes up within Christianity.

Is it unusual to think that he also had children then?

If you will recall, He turned water into wine AFTER the groom ran out. :2 cents:

Funny how the pornographers do exactly what Jesus said. And you want to post lies?

"You are of your father the devil and the lusts of your father you will do" - John 8

"They have eyes filled with lust that cannot cease from sin. Cursed children" - 2 Peter

Not just that, but also that he was polygamous with several wives and many children.

Unless God made him sterile or impotent, it's pretty sure he would of.

The thing is if he was single it would of been unusual enough to have been written about at the time. It wasn't the celibacy thing came later.

Roman Catholic priests went celibate not on their gods order. It was the pope trying to stop the priests passing down the churches possessions to their children.
