Beijing hints at bond attack on Japan
By Ambrose Evans-Pritchard
8:31PM BST 18 Sep 2012 A senior advisor to the Chinese government has called for an attack on the Japanese bond market to precipitate a funding crisis and bring the country to its knees, unless Tokyo reverses its decision to nationalise the disputed Senkaku/Diaoyu islands in the East China Sea. Jin Baisong from the Chinese Academy of International Trade ? a branch of the commerce ministry ? said China should use its power as Japan?s biggest creditor with $230bn (£141bn) of bonds to ?impose sanctions on Japan in the most effective manner? and bring Tokyo?s festering fiscal crisis to a head. Writing in the Communist Party newspaper China Daily, Mr Jin called on China to invoke the ?security exception? rule under the World Trade Organisation to punish Japan, rejecting arguments that a trade war between the two Pacific giants would be mutually destructive. Separately, the Hong Kong Economic Journal reported that China is drawing up plans to cut off Japan?s supplies of rare earth metals needed for hi-tech industry. Link to entire article. |

1. Japan has already apologized and said sorry for many years in yearly gift loans and aid.
The Nanking numbers are highly fabricated. A study was once made to show that for the numbers to be accurate as stated, a single Japanese soldier would have to have killed, by rifle shot, more than 3700 people per day. Give me a fucking break. 2. Give the fucking past a rest. Think about what China is doing today, with physical and culture genocide across many of its provinces. The only reason China is making stink over the islands is because of the huge natural gas reserves recently discovered there. China also claims the Sea of Japan up to the Japanese coastline as its own for the same reasons. 3. If Japan stops all aid to China, China will implode. 4. Japan has not been using China's rare earth resources for some time. They moved elsewhere after China played this game before. Your news is so 1982. LOL. |
China is making a fuss over it to try and take the focus away from their upcoming leadership change.
Nothing unites a country like a common enemy. All you Americans should know all about it, your governments have been doing the very same thing for years (not that ours is any better) |
My government is only temporarily incompetent.
