After lurking on this board for some time, I've come to these conclusions:

1) Most of the people on this board appear to be hackers or thieves or both --- who pretty much steal content and resell it --- or ripoff sponsor programs --- or both.

2) No one seems to be older than the age of 16. If they are technically older than 16, they certainly don't behave like it. The mental age of most posters, on average, appears to be 16.

3) The preponderance of posts such as "Would you fuck this girl?" clearly demonstrates that very few of these people actually get laid in real life --- and, of course, have no life.

4) This board pretty much reinforces and confirms all of the negative stereotypes about the adult industry.

You are surprisingly close. I don't think there are as many hackers and thieves on here as you think, but the rest of what you say applies to the vast majority.

Still, it's kindof like a trainwreck-- you can't help but watch. Oh, and the board makes some of us a lot of money. so what the hell, stick around. If you have good bullshit filters, you might learn something.

Quite frankly, I probably don't.

GFY has it's own flavour.. You can't really compare it to other boards because the PEOPLE make the board. There is such a huge cross-section of different types of people here that it's impossible to judge it from the standpoint of only 3 or 4 people. They just seem to be the ones who are the "loudest" that day, but that changes day to day too. It's like the tides, ever flowing and ebbing, moving in cycles and never static. GFY changes from day to day, sometimes hour to hour or minute to minute. You can lurk but unless you are a part of the community you really can't judge. And even then, you have to stick around for quite a while before you can even come close to sampling the profundity and the shallowness which is, or can be GFY.

Sure some people are idiots.. what person do you know who hasn't acted like an idiot or an asshole at least once? Everyone here is HUMAN, humans are fallible, humans are prone to arguing and bickering.. Such is life. If you don't like it, don't read it. Of course, you've been drawn into the "evil" which is GFY yourself, simply because you posted. Therefore, you're no better than the rest of us, I would think.

We're a group of miserable bastards...

We struggle to make more and more money each month, and when we do, we stress out that we won't make as much the next.

We think about work FAR too often (most 24/7), and we're constantly bombarded with images of sex, which most of us are too busy to have.

True...but... This is just a webmaster board. People come here and fuck around a little bit , blow off a little steam, and make contacts.

If you have ever been to an Internext and met some of the people in this industry, you would find that there are a lot of good people in this industry. While there is a lot of competion in the industry.... a lot of people are willing to help each other out.

At the January Internext here in Vegas, the thing that sticks out in my mind the most is how professional and courteous everyone was to each other...even when we were drunk. The people in this industry are nothing like the mainstream's stereotypes.
