Mansions and slums just like every other state/country.

Depends on where in New Jersey you wish to live.

North New Jersey: Very expensive. (smaller apartment is $2k a month)

South New Jersey: reasonable for the most part. ($2k a month for a nice single home, some land and a pool at times) I have lived in South Jersey and the housing is reasonable and pretty plentiful (most are houses for sale that are now for rent since no one is buying them)

Pros of North Jersey: Lots to do from a entertainment, nightlife and also New York City is not that far.

Pros of South Jersey: Lots of open space, long country roads, farmers markets, and also Philadelphia PA is not that far away for nightlife and Entertainment.

So the rental market in NJ is booming?

Is this just for NJ that everyone want to rent or is this seen all across USA that the rental market out strips the buying market?

thx

NJ is a more diverse state than most realize ... this map lays it out in simple, laymans terms:

I was born in NJ and lived there until I was seventeen or so. Years later everyone would ask me "What exit" I lived off of. I never understood this being as we never used the Turnpike - ever.

Where I grew there was nothing... Not even a police department. It was a great place to grow up as a kid. The funny thing is when your 17 your bored and the country has nothing to offer you, and when your older you wish you could go back to the peace and quiet.

Yup, very nice places. But to the OP: depends on WHERE in NJ we're talking here but basically the closer to New York and/or the more property than higher the price.

Good luck! :thumbsup

I recommend working class people and beach house area north of, and including, belmar. If you go south of there then get ready for the ultimate guido summer.

1 to 2 blocks from the water. If you go inland you mine as well move to Wisconsin and get a mansion for $1500/month.
