My car was broken into and I feel so lucky.

Had my car broken into last night, thieves got a GPS and a iPod.

I feel very lucky though as a newly purchased Gibson acoustic ($2,000) was in the back seat and it's still there.

AllAboutCams 09-17-2012 09:09 AM

I have stopped locking my car here i would rather someone went throw my car than break a window

Tom_PM 09-17-2012 09:11 AM

If only the GPS could locate itself.. hmm wait.. I mean if only you could register it and THEN get it's location and beat some heads in.

Harmon 09-17-2012 09:11 AM

Did they steal the tee shirt you and your faggot friend still owe me?

If it was an iPod touch, you can locate it using icloud :2 cents: They have to connect to wifi first though.

When I was at college many many years ago. I had my car broken into. They stole my backpack because it looked similar to a laptop bag.

That was my 1 lesson to never leave anything of value in my car again.

Nobody owes you shit since you declined a cash compensation for your "troubles"

iSpyCams 09-17-2012 09:54 AM

Yeah I live in a pretty safe neighborhood, so most people dont lock anything. Bikes in the yard, cars, houses unlocked, etc.

But last night a crew of pros went through and got pretty much everybody for something. I went to file a police report this morning and phones were ringing off the hook, I heard there were over 100 reports.

shimmy2 09-17-2012 10:00 AM

i just leave all mines unlocked... better that than replacing glass, soft tops, etc. sorry bout your loss

Tofu 09-17-2012 10:08 AM

In Stockton, you can't even leave your car to use a walk up ATM machine. It will be gone by the time you turn around to walk back.

I had someone try to siphon petrol from my car. A few hundred dollars worth of damage for (max) $80 worth of petrol, if I'd just filled up. They didn't get a drop because most modern cars, mine included, have baffles to stop this. Completely pointless, all they achieved was damaging the body of my car.

What ghetto area do you live in? I use to work in stockton, no drama there.

CYF 09-17-2012 11:05 AM

in 2005 my car got broken into in Minneapolis. The little triangle side window was broken, they took 50 CDs plus a laptop off the back seat floor. They missed a cellphone and radar detector which was hanging on the windshield.

Let him keep whining over a $10 t shirt. You more than made up for it with me, and I had totally forgotten about it when you contacted me.

The thing is it wasn't even my offer, I was just trying to make it right, since I was about to start a project with Elliot and I don't associate with people who don't make good on their word.

All of a sudden it's my fault he didn't get his precious t shirt. I did everything I could think of, I guess some people just like to bitch.

The Heron 09-17-2012 01:47 PM

had my window broken, gps stolen last week. Parked at a ritzy mall by the main doors, amazing nobody saw it happen or stopped it... Cost more to replace my window then buy a new gps so that was annoying as hell.

I know man. You explained it all to me. Only an asshole would carry on constantly after getting offered cash, reasonable explanation and apology.

candyflip 09-17-2012 02:02 PM

Glass coverage can be added to your insurance policy for a few bucks a month.

papill0n 09-17-2012 02:08 PM

What sort of a stupid cunt leaves a 2 grand guitar in their car

The Heron 09-17-2012 02:08 PM

My insurance covers rock chips but I have a 500 deductible and apparently assholes actually breaking the window fall under that deductible... hell it was 165 for window replacement why the fuck would i pay extra for insurance on that.

blazin 09-17-2012 02:41 PM

Motherfuckers will break into your car for a can of coke.... never leave anything in plain sight!
