I actually feel sorry for my local newsagent...
They offer daily paper delivery etc, and are struggling. They are honest about this, and they not have much longer to go in the Biz... They simply are not making the cash.
So, in order to try and support them, I order a monthly magazine. I 'could' buy it elsewhere, but I choose to order through them, so they can benefit from it. Its only £4.99 a month, but every little helps...
Yet when it arrives, not only does the magazine have about 3 printed pages that offer me a discount if I buy direct, they also have 2 printed inserts that encourage me to purchase from them.
If I buy it direct, they will give me 3 issues for a pound, and then give me 25% off the rest of the year - And deliver for free...
So i think its a shame that they themselves are trying to eliminate their own distribution network (The Newsagents) and in the process, take LESS money than they would via the newsagents.
Weird...
