Producers, Agents Can Contact APHSS to Verify Performer Health

CANOGA PARK, Calif.?Adult Production Health & Safety Services (APHSS.org) is requesting that producers and agents contact APHSS.org to verify treatment and testing for performers, in order to speed the process as production resumes after the moratorium.

Producers and agents can contact APHSS.org by phone at 818-348-9373, or email [email protected].

"For performers that have chosen not to participate in the APHSS database, we can verify that they received syphilis testing and treatment with a phone call or an email," FSC CEO Diane Duke said. "We understand that many performers are anxious to go back to work, and producers need to book production schedules?to speed the process, we want to provide the fastest options to getting everyone cleared for production.

"Due to recent events, which have been difficult for performers, producers and agents, we want to make sure that everyone receives appropriate services and gets assistance as quickly as possible," Duke added. "We want to thank everyone for their patience and understanding; this situation was a new one for the industry and we are grateful for the cooperation of industry members at this time.?

Free Speech Coalition (FSC) operates the APHSS.org program, which provides performers with testing services that include needed follow-up healthcare services with medical professionals. APHSS.org testing facilities have agreed to comply with industry protocols for health & safety self-regulation. The APHSS.org database provides a secure source of performer data verification for producers and agents, in order to uphold protocols for self-regulation.

Why is an organization called The Free Speech Coalition involving themselves in medical testing of adult performers?

Redrob 09-07-2012 05:46 PM

The Free Speech Coalition is not involved with testing of performers. All testing is done by clinics such as Cutting Edge, Talent Testing Services, etc.

A division of the FSC called APHSS operates a database for the industry that shows whether or not a particular performer is available for work.

So they are sending confidential testing and treatment information over unsecured email?

Time to invest in a lawyer to read up on HIPAA.

Or at the minimum read this: http://luxsci.com/blog/what-hipaa-sa...-security.html

Actually in California even encrypted emails are not allowed for HIV results under a state law...HIPAA sets the lower end of what's required. Individual states can pass more vigorous requirements.

Sorry to disappoint; but, no test results on site. The only information available is whether the performer is available for work or not.

A "not available" could be due to performer being on vacation, working out of country, or any of a dozen other reasons.

So none of the APHSS testing facilities send test results of HIV via email to the performers ?

The performer has to come back into the clinic to see the doctor to be told their results in person and then request a written copy of their medical records in person ?

So if a performer is going out of town they can notify APHSS and they will change their status to unavailable? That's nice. Not sure if that runs afoul of talent agent laws though since you decide if talent is able to work.

Personally, I am not familiar with the internal protocols of each individual testing center across the USA.

I do know that the individual's test results are not available on the APHSS database.

Epitome, the individual performer decides if they are unavailable due to being on vacation, etc.
