I didn't watch Romney so I can't really compare. My wife is watching the highlighhts of Obama now on CNN and it sounds good, but I'm really not paying too much attention. Whatever. Obama is the lesser of two evils so he wins.
I'm going back to the beach. |

Obama sounds like a man with empathy and he is in charge of his words and really believes in what he is saying. the guy is a master speech giving motherfucker, right up there with Bill Clinton.
Romney has the charisma of a soap dish, and doesn't seem to give a shit about anything except getting his dream job. |
It was a good speech. Not as good as Clinton last night though.
And when Obama bragged about how the U.S. has opened up more oil fields this year....guess what? He didn't allow ANY oil fields to be opened. He blocked every last one. All the ones that did open were on private land. And then he talked about all the natural gas under our feet and "clean coal". But I'm unaware that he has allowed any of that to be gotten to either (again, all on private land). I agree with him on 90% of what he said. But it wasn't anything of substance. Yes...I love America too. Yes...I want our people to be educated. I love babies, and flowers, and sunshine too. lol He also bragged that great paying jobs were coming back and we were "making things again" in the U.S. and companies were hiring people and they are good paying jobs...and none of that is really true. If it were, he would be winning in a landslide. |

OMFG... Did you hear him read from his teleprompter?!?!?! It was like SO FUCKING COOL. OMG I'm SO voting for him based on that alone... That motherfucker CAN READ!!! |
Good speech, Good idea's.
The funny part was when he was acting like he cared about people not being able to pay their medical bills. Why didn't he mention that because of him, Hospitals can now collect outstanding bills, If you don't pay, they will confiscate anything of value that you own... Don't get me wrong, I don't hate President Obama, I just disagree with some of the things he does, and think it's time for someone new to be in office. |

Stick with Obama. Things ARE better off now - with ZERO help from the Republicans. 1. Passed Health Care Reform: After five presidents over a century failed to create universal health insurance, signed the Affordable Care Act (2010). It will cover 32 million uninsured Americans beginning in 2014 and mandates a suite of experimental measures to cut health care cost growth, the number one cause of America?s long-term fiscal problems. 4. Ended the War in Iraq: Ordered all U.S. military forces out of the country. Last troops left on December 18, 2011. 5. Began Drawdown of War in Afghanistan: From a peak of 101,000 troops in June 2011, U.S. forces are now down to 91,000, with 23,000 slated to leave by the end of summer 2012. According to Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, the combat mission there will be over by next year. 6. Eliminated Osama bin laden: In 2011, ordered special forces raid of secret compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, in which the terrorist leader was killed and a trove of al-Qaeda documents was discovered. http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/mag...ents035755.php http://obeygiant.com/images/2008/10/obama.jpg |

a. American people did not want the health care system changed. Obama went against their wishes and passed it through. He is supposed to represent the people, Not do whatever he wants! b. While it helps a lot of people who need it, At the same time it is putting many people out of work. "Huge cuts in the medical industry" c. It gives to much power to insurance companies, Your insurance company can now tell you what doctor you are allowed to see, and what exact store location you have to fill your prescriptions at. d. There are not enough doctors in the USA to cover seeing the amount of people that will now be running for check-ups (lower quality care) especially since you will probably be pushed in the front and out the back so they can try and attempt to make up for the money that has been cut. e. People making $250K or more per year will be charged an extra tax for obama care, while those of us making less will not have to pay this tax. Not to mention the huge amount that will be taken from Medicare. If you ask me, Obama care, Is a wolf in sheep's clothing, Something most people have know idea about what it really is. Another thing aimed to get the low income votes! |
Romney is a mexican in a swedish banker's clothing...
If you can't bank in the US...fuck ya |

Obama had the grapes to take it on. I'm not 100% happy with the end product, either, but it IS an improvement. "pre-existing conditions" gone "lifetime caps" gone Kids can stay on their parent's plan til they're 26 Women can't be charged more than men Insurance companies must spend 80% of YOUR premium payment on YOUR healthcare Free routine checkups - makes good fiscal sense to catch problems early - not to mention quality of life. A buddy of mine went to get a checkup recently. When he was done he went to the window to pay his $50 co-pay. He was told there no longer WAS a co-pay. He was amazed. He happily put that cash back in his pocket. That's money that he then spent in the local community on a nice dinner. Thanks Obama! I think you have some erroneous facts up there. An improvement as long as you or someone in your family didn't depend on their income coming from working in Health care.
Edit: I also hope you didn't find a good doctor that you like, So you won't have to experiance them being ripped away from you! |

What did Obama promise? More jobs? Well, we've added more jobs. Every month now. I'm not sure if that's because of Obama but it doesn't matter much - we have more jobs and unemployment is down from it's high point. All the Republican party has is "Obama failed". I'm sorry - When Bush left office exactly ten out of twenty houses on my street were vacant because people lost their houses. Four years of Obama and all of them are occupied except for one, which is due to a divorce. When Bush left office all construction had completely stopped - all of it right in the middle of construction. Four years of Obama and all of this construction has been restarted and in some cases, completed. We had entire condo complexes with dozens and dozens of units half built, now all condo units. You just cannot deny things are better. I'm not saying Obama is our hero or our savior or that he did anything right; I'm saying things are better. In the mean time the entire Republican platform right now is "Obama Failed". At the same time Romney hasn't offered up a plan to fix anything. The Republican party is stuck in neutral. They destroyed the country under Bush, didn't even both to try when they put up McCain, and now with Romney they don't even so much as have a plan to fix anything. And the polls reflect this. |
I have more faith in Romney, And I do believe they have plans to fix the economy. Most likely stuff the majority of people would be against, and that's why I think they are not telling their plans...
Example would be hitting piracy and getting that tax money. So many are against this, because they want everything for free that it would kill his chances of becoming president. I'm not saying this is one of the plans, just saying it's an example that would help the economy that people would be against. another would be a major welfare reform. |
Quote:
But now you endorse the guy who you claim might have a plan that most people won't like but he will do anyway and you are for it. Interesting. |
Of all the people who read off a teleprompter what someone else wrote for them, Obama is the best.

And was just giving a reason why he may not be telling his plans. Not saying I agree with it. |

U.S. domestic oil production is higher than it has been in eight years, and our imports are less than half of consumption, for the first time in 17 years. 20 million new acres have been opened for exploration in the Gulf. You don't even have to give him credit for it, but it's still true. It's silly to pretend the truth is a lie, just because you don't like the guy. |

The two conventions combined to prove Bill Clinton remains the best man for the job.
Clinton's prepared remarks were about 3500 words long. His speech went nearly twice that length. He adlibbed 10-15 minutes of what he said because he ACTUALLY understand the underlying policy issues. He doesn't just read from a TelePrompTer... You could put mitt and Obama both in the whitehouse together and give them a two year headstart.... And Clinton would still be able to out-govern the both of them. |

also oil for fuel is an old fucking technology maybe we should get something new. Its funny we are all tech guys are you all still using dos?
The Chinese are number one in solar ,a technology Americans created. The Chinese gov invested 30 billion dollars in it. Funny how that works. Bush could of been the greatest president that ever lived. After 911,he had the support of all Americans.Imagine if he said getting off oil is job one for America? That's how we are going win against terrorists. Then the same money used for the wars went to tech to replace oil. It would of created a jobs boom and we would lead the world on getting off of oil and stick it right up the saudi's asses (who by the way all the terrorists were) |

Like or hate his speech - the question is which one is more likely to move the country forward rather than backwards, even just a bit? Neither one can solve all the problems but as Clinton suggested - is the country better than it was a few years ago? I think yes

Jon Favreau is the Director of speech writing for president Obama, who has a team of speech writers. Obama's team knocked it out of the park. Obama simply read their words with conviction and made everyone believe they were his own, with a message that is generic, yet very well calculated. Quote:
Obama is a great speaker, but it is only fair to give credit where it is due. And this does not just apply to Obama, this goes for all of them. I just single out Obama because everyone goes on and on about how great his speeches are, but he doesn't even write them. |
