I doubt it would be worth it to upload my exclusive content so other tube sites owners can scrape them, it be like giving away ten-thousands of dollars to make pennies it seems. What are your payouts for views?

That really depends on things like how much advertisers are bidding for the ad zones, what countries your content is being viewed in plus a few more.

The best way to guage it is to upload a video and see how you do after a few days.

there was not meant to be a link to the terms on the outside, sign up, only takes a min, and you will be presented with the terms when we accept the account, sorry for this, but I wanted to keep the terms inside the password protected area, and speed up the initial join process.

the terms completely cover content ownership, but I will try to touch on it here, you are not giving up any rights to the content, it is yours. If you don't like the program, we will remove your content. You are granting us the right to stream your video in the free areas of our site, and to provide streaming and downloading of your video in the members area. Thus far no one has complained about the fact that we provide downloading in the members area, however I imagine posting that information here might cause a stir. Remember this is a free site, so there are minimal members, and because they are paying to be members of a site that they could have for free, we need to provide them with additional benefits. The downloading is limited to the lower qualities, and the members area is being fitted with the same ad underneath the video as the tour, so there will still be branding and traffic generation opportunities (should be live today). Additionally we are exploring a few methods to change this, such as only enabling a download if the user pays a 1 time fee for which you will get paid.

Although the product has been in progress for well over a year, and we are very comfortable with how it works now, the future of it will include many changes, so we will explore necessary improvements and changes along with the suggestions and concerns of our partners.

Certainly don't want to stir up a hornets nest. My question was based upon many of the Terms of Use you see with sites like Facebook, some of the cam sites etc whereby once you "upload" it, it becomes their property and they can do anything they like with the content. ( and that can be problematic )

If the video is viewed 1 million times then you are paid revshare of the ad revenue generated in those 1 million viewings, not the signup for members areas. I think you are misunderstanding how people make money with this.

Your video will be on porn.com which has ads on and around the video page. You get a revenue share of what your video viewings generate in ad revenue. I hope that clears it up for you.

Not behind any payment wall- just all in free areas/sites/tubes correct?

Having seen some other TOS (porntube for example) they have some pretty "unique" terms for content owners.

It depends what you mean by editing I would imagine. Do you mean editing the entire raw videos or just shortening the scenes? This isn't my area but I wanted your question addressed. I'm sure Phil will address it tomorrow.

are you paid per view as this advert (above) states.

or are you paid rev share if somone clicks an advert when your vid is shown?

If this is the case your vid may be seen 6 million times but makes no money. but a not very good vid with just 5 views could make money if somone clicks the advert.

in fact in that case the vids that are not very good may make most cash as people may think the clips suck and so leave by clicking the adverts.

How will these stats be collected when it's based on sales leading to all sorts of 3rd part programs?

You are paid on ad views, not ad clicks.

Basically, PPV offers content producers 2 possible revenue streams:

1. A share of advertising revenue from the views (CPM) their videos generate.
2. A PPS link below their videos which lead to their traditional pay site tour.

As stated above, you are paid for the ad views surrounding your video. Additionally, under the video, you have the option to have a banner and description linked to YOUR site where the content originated.

If your videos is watched 6 million times, that is also 6 million ad views for each ad on the page. Our advertisers pay on a display basis (CPM) so you get a percentage of all the revenue that all those ad views generated.

We don't sell on a pay per click, we sell our ads on CPM (Cost per mille or cost per 1000 views) so even if in all those 6 million viewings, not one surfer clicks on an ad, the Advertisers still paid to be displayed. All that revenue is split between us and the owner of the video.

things are going strong so far, a ton of people joining, tons of them all set up already and a lot of great content getting added. There is obviously still some confusion though, I see a lot of webmasters joining thinking they can just throw in tube clips from other programs and get paid for it. You need to realize, if I can just go log in and get the tube clips myself and ad them for free, I'm not going to pay someone else on a CPM basis to do the same. The program is for people who own the rights to content only.

Are the clips only going to show up on Porn.com or are they also gonna be shown on the sites using the hostedtube.com platform.
