Samsung blackmailing bloggers...

nice

1) Find the biggest phone blogs in india
2) Offer to fly the reporters to Berlin to cover the launch of the Note 2
3) Make them wear Samsung uniforms, and do product demonstrations on the booth all day and when the bloggers say "Hang on a minute, we're reporters not booth babes" say "So what we say, or we will leave you stranded here and chuck you out of your hotel"

Yes, refresh and it starts over. Makes for one trustworthy news source :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Fake news?

Colmike9 09-03-2012 06:02 AM

It's funny because those types of 'bloggers' think they're real journalists when in reality, they just have an online journal that a few people read..

Um, thenextweb is a very well known and highly trusted news source.

Maybe, and this is a guess, because I am not a programmer, the counter resets at every refresh, polls the stats, and presents the most recent number?

Well Samsung thought their sites were so widely read they wanted the bloggers to shill for them.

If it is, which I doubt, they've certainly fooled the internet. A quick search for "samsung india bloggers" on news.google.com shows everyone big has reported it.

I would have had a free trip to Japan as a 'blogger' but the fucking nuclear meltdown cancelled that.. :(
So it can't be too hard to get noticed as a 'blogger'..

No, you just need a really popular blog that has a lot of visitors.

Yeah, it does happen, all the time. The media are constantly flown around the world by companies to come to launches etc.

I launched a technology magazine in the UK called T3 and there were invites from companies every single day offering exactly that.

However, most don't threaten to leave you stranded in a foreign country if you refuse to do their bidding.

If they let the bloggers review the products as bloggers and not be their booth slaves, then things would have gone a bit better. Some even specifically said that they would only do it if they went as reporters and not promoters..

Cry me a fucking river.

Let me know when Samsung tries to dictate what consumer products I can and cannot buy.
