Billions are wondering why!!

by John Kaminski
Several billion people in the world ? including myself ? are wondering why:

? America is hellbent on destroying its own Constitution. The first Patriot Act torpedoed most of it, but now the new Patriot Act II ? currently under wraps and about to be deployed secretly for a rigged vote in Congress ? actually contains a provision to revoke the citizenship of American citizens if they are deemed to be connected with a terrorist organization. This decision would require no proof, only an assertion by the government. It means that people who attend peace protests are now eligible for indefinite detention without access to lawyers or phone calls to family. To be clear, it means quite literally that America is no longer a free country, and that its citizens are no longer Constitutionally protected from arbitrary punishment by its war-mad government.

Legit question..... some of us are wondering ourselfs.

The further we get into this the more it appears like the terrorist are winning the war.

Sometimes people look at certain persons in power as terrorists.

Just who are the terrorist?

So far nothing has been proven, No evidence brought forward.

A war on Terrorism?

More like a fake war on terrorism and fear mongering!

How can you combat a idea?

Impossible! Its all to bring in new laws to control people even more!

Very scary proposal. Very scary time indeed. Too many American's would allow their rights to be taken away for a false sense of security.

unconnected 02-13-2003 04:03 PM

False Sense of security is the USA's middle name.. Look at the right to bear arms for example.. This has to be one of the biggest mistakes a nation can do in todays day and age.. Because once you do it, and turn the culture into accepting and needing a gun under their pillow to feel secure it is very hard to pry that away from them. Given from what I understand it might have served a purpose a few centuries ago, but today it is absolutely ridiculous.. And the few people that want to defend it go right ahead because explaining this is like trying to justify what we do to for a living to some southern biblethumping christian. It just isn't going to happen, not because they are bad people, or because we are right and they are wrong, but because it is something that has been so ingrained into their lives since they were born that their brain is almost unable to wrap itself around an opposite and logical argument..
Either way, the USA is built on a very large false sense of security through media propaganda, their brainwashing government and god knows what else..
Not to say that most countries in the world aren't like this, and not to say that there are no doubt MORE countries in the world that are MUCH much much MUCH worse.. but we aren't talking about them right now

I assume you are aware that the Supreme Court is the ultimate arbitrator about what laws are constitutional and what laws are not. Congress can pass any law/laws that it wants too but once any law is challenged it will ultimately be the Supreme Court that lets the law stand or not.

Scootermuze 02-13-2003 04:40 PM

They can try to pass any law that they want, but until it is initially applied, and tested, nobody knows if it will remain a law or not..

Once they arrest the wrong/right person, or they infringe on the wrong/right person's constitutional rights, the Supreme Court, as mentioned earlier will have their say, and if the constitution is interfered with through these new laws, we will see what will happen to em, and probably rather rapidly..

They already did in fact win:

Terrorist ultimate goals are not to kill people for the purpose of saying " we killed 3000 people", but to bring terror on a neighboohood, city, state or country. Killing is one of the tools that they use along with the simple threat of killing....

The US is now living in terror ( orange alert, supicious trucks, anti-missile stations around the Whitehouse, ... ), so the terrorist won!

The US will win a armed force war on Iraq, but already lost their war to the terrorist. Very sad!!!

For freedom being jeopardized, here is a small paragraph of an article:

Electronic records are already ubiquitous in corporate America. Businesses keep lists of cardiac patients, BMW owners, subscribers to porn magazines, even people who tend to do their grocery shopping about the time they receive sales circulars, Mr. Higgins said.

The frightening this is that I pretty much agree with you.

rooster 02-13-2003 06:02 PM

Youd be right if it werent for the fact that 3,000 people were killed. So some planning is necessary. Those hiding out in their basements are goofy people that would be acting that way either way.

gothweb 02-13-2003 06:03 PM

That is some seriously fucked up shit right there.

They've already won...

:/ and we let them, time to vote some motherfuckers outta office

we need to have like 'kill switches' on those bastards, so when they get into office and start doing shit we don't like or didn't vote them in to do (ie, their misrepresentation/fraud towards us) then we can fire them, and replace them with some temporary person until a new election can be held....

that would be the only way to keep them honest...

threats of 'no job for you fucker' when they screw up, would have to be thought out very well and done like on some sort of percentage base, etc...but it would work...

if I vote for someone cuz they say they will uphold the freedoms that we cherish, then they turn around and do the opposite, isn't that 'False Advertising? or Fraud' ????

They can protect us without doing this shit. If they want to blow money and get efficient, unlift some restrictions put on the CIA and let them get fucking dirty as they need to to get the job done, quit fucking 'us the public' the easy targets....

Write to your local congressperson, encourage other people to do the same, and to spread the message. That's the only way you can influence the chain of events now.
