The 'Secret' Nuclear Bunker...
http://www.secretnuclearbunker.com/
I went there about 10 years ago... Really cool. This little innocent bungalow in a field, just outside of London... Bungalow itself is just a concrete shell with a long tunnel heading downwards, to the 'real' bunker... Fascinating - To think what they had planned for the Queen and Government, in the event of a nuclear attack... I may go back again soon, (despite it being a 5 hour drive) It was just so cool to see all the 'Protect and Survive' Videos playing on old fashioned TVs... The idea that WE should 'lie down' to survive, but they have this bunker lol |

I'm not so sure they can use the name "Secret Nuclear Bunker", when they have road signs that point to their location. Perhaps the can add the word "Previously" or "Former" and it would make more sense if they don't want to drop "Secret"

there is one just outside of ottawa built for canada's leaders that was declassified in 1994 and made into a museum. we checked it out a couple of weeks ago, pretty interesting.

One of the best bits was were they had to cut a hole in the liner to conform to HSE fire exit regulations. Took them many many days to drill slugs with diamond drills to open a hole big enough.

I love shit like this.... Imagine my surprise when I discovered there is a nuclear silo from the 1960s about a mile from my house... .

I saw the one outside of London on a show on the discovery channel a few years ago. I can't remember the show but I remember thinking it would be cool to spend some time down there
