Weed IS a gateway drug, because of the misinformation peddled in public schools. So when someone tries it for the fist time and realizes their life is not going to go to shit over night just because they got high they start to wonder what other type of illegal drugs are safe to experiment with. If marijuana were legal then it would not be a gateway drug no more than alcohol is. :2 cents:

I might be wrong but I don't think any politician has won an election based on their relaxed policies on drug use. It's probably much easier for him to roll with the response he had then open up a can of worms saying that he is pro-marijuana use.

Obviously it would get him supporters, but at what cost?
