I wonder if anything of real value is found there, say they found signs of life, intelligent life at one time, if they would release that information to the public or not.

I think Carl Sagan who said it once. If there is intelligent life out there you really dont want them finding us. Everyone assumes they will be peace loving and friendly.Instead it could be the way Columbus treated the Indians.

why? i assume bones are a function of the planets gravity. There could be other body support systems: air tubes, exo skeleton..etc However bones seem fairly efficient for this planets gravity.

I bet that the basic design is not too far off bi pedal, with possible 1-2 sets of arms, with dextrous appendages, such as fingers. These would all be required for any species to develop and grow into something space bound. Building microchips is not easy if you are a blob with no appendages but a huge brain, nor is blacksmithing...farming..hunting...etc

It is most likely that any advanced beings that are out there are traveling the stars using worm holes they can open at any location. However even that wouldn't really increase the odds of anyone coming here, as there are too many places to point to. Maybe in another 1000 years or so, someone will manage to pick up some signals from earth. However i doubt out signals make it very far out in the grand scheme of things.

Maybe the boneless aliens are the overlords, mind controlling humanoid-like beings to do all the work, and - never mind, I'm just describing a conspiracy theory for this planet.

Anyway, with our own ever more sedentary lifestyles, and with 400lb shuts-ins trapped on their own beds not an unusual event any more, by the time aliens reach us, say 2525, if man is still alive, we'll probably just be amorphous blobs too.

Funny... I saw some photos from Curiosity of Mt. Sharp and the geography reminded me of the Amargosa Desert, which is north of Las Vegas and just to the east of Death Valley.

Every object you see floating in heaven has an explanation. Either satelites, weather balloons, military airplanes, etc etc..

It could not be kept a secret, nor would they want it to be a secret. Finding life on Mars or anywhere else outside of earth would be a huge scientific achievement.

The only people who would not want it released are the "Earth is only 6000 year old / Jesus road dinosaurs / science deniers" of the the world.

Carl was really smart, but that is an idiotic statement. For them to even exist, in cooperating populations, means they have risen above petty disagreements, and operate as a whole. They know what benefits peace and cooperation bring.

Anyone who thinks other beings don't exist, do some research. Start with documentaries. Don't like quacks? Check out NASA's own footage of hundreds of UFOs, over several incidents, outside of earths atmosphere, in space, caught by their own cameras.
