To start, I don't know what everyone's problem is with me offering a hosting deal on this forum. I think I earned the right by giving away over 2000 shared hosting account to the members of this forum, with free support to boot.

I think that some of the competition on this forum are just worried someone is going to take away their thunder.

If you want to advertise in the main section, you pay for ad space like you're supposed too.

Otherwise, you post over in the Buy & Sell section like everyone else, and where that shit belongs. Those are the rules, and not open to your newbie's interpretation of being a cheapskate. If you do not like it, WHT is always at your disposal.

However, I believe they have rules over there as well in regards to the CORRECT FORUM you can post that shit in.

Ok ok, so just so I understand. giving away free hosting, is completely okay in the main forum, but the second I ask for someone to pay for something, I get my ass kicked. Wow everyone, thanks for the support!

Maybe we should just suspend all the free accounts we gave away instead, or charge them for the resources they use on our system, or the free support we have provided when someone's script is written by a cheap ass developer from fiverr.com.

Otherwise , you get yourself a few fakenicks ( like aligbone, etc ... ) or some whore posters and then post how great your host is, like :

You're the one that came up with the idea to give away a bunch of shared hosting accounts. Doesn't mean you get shit in return.

Never mind that 99% of the accounts you gave away were probably to webmasters that make one sale every six days. You won't get anything in return except headaches.

Oh and a big LOL about giving away 2,000 accounts to people here. Like you'd pay for all of that out of the kindness of your heart. I think you added two extra zeros.

GFY makes money by selling advertising. Generally a little bit of spam might be allowed once in a while but the mods prefer that you have been around alot long, and that you contribute lots of content to GFY along with conversation, opinions, etc. Become a good member of the community first.

Also, when you do talk about your product, make sure it is different from anyone else. Like Google, don't say "We have the best hosting and best support" and all of that kind of crap. Everyone here is a veteran and we've all seen that kind of thing before, and see it every day in our inboxes. SPAM SUCKS.

If you have a new product that is different than everyone elses and you want to invite people to give it a try, or get some feedback on it, etc etc, then probably you are safe to post about it. Otherwise, please no spam.
