Apple is awarded 1 billion, 51 million 855 thousand dollars in damages. Time for Samsung's appeal.

I am not sure a Jury is smart enough to deside this.

Samsung is now outselling iPhones. You don't have to do it first, you just have to do it better.

kazbalah 08-24-2012 04:50 PM

ouch poor samsung

Phoenix 08-24-2012 04:51 PM

I predict South Korea will go to war over this.

SmutHammer 08-24-2012 05:35 PM

Poor apple's feeling are hurt that Samsung made a phone they can't compete with.

Just like Microsoft, Samsung has never had an original idea always stealing from somebody else.

GetSCORECash 08-24-2012 06:09 PM

Microsoft will have some killer phones in a year or two, and they have all the patents.

This message was written from my Samsung, Galaxy with a keyboard. :) using a superior OS named Android.

Turnover wise Samsung pulls in about 1 billion every 2.5 days so they are probably not too worried about the actual $ involved, the main issue appears to be if they can continue to sell their products.

OneHungLo 08-24-2012 08:48 PM

another good day to be an AAPL stock owner. Up 11.73‎ in after hours.

SomeCreep 08-24-2012 09:04 PM

Its all over for Samsung. "Willful" patent infringement will bring about devastating injunctions and bans of their products.

This is so ridiculous I am making it my sig line now. Apple is one of the biggest innovators in the digital era, if not the biggest.

Kind of blows that as a consumer I'm forced to use their possibly inferior products now because of devices they made years ago that are now obsolete make it difficult for Apple competitors to serve my needs.

AllAboutCams 08-24-2012 09:40 PM

Everything i have of Samsung is shit

Agreed 100% - but he was a genius.

FlowerKid 08-24-2012 11:39 PM

Jobs was an asshole. But a good seller and promoter.

SmutHammer 08-25-2012 12:09 AM

They had great idea's and came out with great products, to bad they limited them to apple's crap os...

MPGdevil 08-25-2012 01:27 AM

US judge.
US jury.
US company vs South Korean company.
NO surprise.

roly 08-25-2012 02:19 AM

Very bad news for the consumer whether you buy apple or their competitors phones or tablets.

Bat_Man 08-25-2012 02:25 AM

after all, this is quite a positive news for we the consumers...because, this kind of attitude will make the products better and cheap....

Jobs was nothing but a salesman, taking other people's stuff and putting it in shiny boxes for idiots to pay through the nose for.

Steve Wozniak was a true innovator and 'genius' at Apple, creating the Apple II which put the company on the map.

After Woz's role at Apple diminished and ended, Apple was a failure as a company with virtually no market share, and on the verge of complete demise in the 90s. Bill Gates saved Apple from oblivion, and Jonathan Ive put the company back on the map by designing pretty boxes for already existing technology.

Steve Jobs? Who?

Oh, he was busy reinforcing his own demented cult of personality for wackos like you who think he's the Messiah. Modestly comparing himself to the likes of Gandhi, MLK, Picasso, Einstein, Edison, Dylan, Lennon or Hitchcock; insanely nuts to anyone outside the Church of Appletology.

You only have to look at Mactards building shrines and lighting candles at Apple Stores after his death to see how far fruitcake whackjob Apple customers fall for it.

Apple innovating? :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh Shit, even the name is ripped off from the Beatles.

Patent lawsuits like this, claiming to 'own' concepts that are ancient or inconsequential, are the very opposite of innovation. Trying to ban the competition -- gee, that's always a winner for consumers -- is just more evidence that Apple is fully Evil. It has become what it always wanted to be: Microsoft at its worst.

Meanwhile Bill Gates is out there spending his money saving the world.

Pandoras 08-25-2012 07:40 AM

Samsung had always been with different ideas of phones or tablets.. Apple are always with same ideas but different form of the look.. Maybe Apple is more famous than Samsung and more expensive but they are not good enough. This is my opinion and i think that Samsung is better than Apple. :)

You do know that Apple did to Sony the same thing Samsung did to Apple?

The iPhone is based off Sony phones and well the Mac OS is thanks to Xerox.

Edit: iTunes is all them.
