1989 the number another summer (get down)
Sound of the funky drummer
Music hittin' your heart cause I know you got sould
(Brothers and sisters hey)
Listen if you're missin' y'all
Swingin' while I'm singin'
Givin' whatcha gettin'
Knowin' what I know
While the Black bands sweatin'
And the rhythm rhymes rollin'
Got to give us what we want
Gotta give us what we need
Our freedom of speech is freedom or death
We got to fight the powers that be
Lemme hear you say
Fight the power
i said a hip hop the hippie the hippie
to the hip hip hop, a you dont stop
the rock it to the bang bang boogie say up jumped the boogie
to the rhythm of the boogie, the beat
now what you hear is not a test--i'm rappin to the beat
and me, the groove, and my friends are gonna try to move your feet

to the black, to the white, the red, and the brown, the purple and yellow
but first i gotta bang bang the boogie to the boogie

let's rock, you dont stop
rock the riddle that will make your body rock

and next on the mike is my man hank

'88 for me toooooo.....and Catholic school? haha....I went to Catholic school up until grade 10. We moved from Toronto to Vancouver and my mom wanted me to go to a catholic school here called 'The Little Flower Academy'.....well....needless to say I threw a fit and...well....she gave up and I ended up going to the public school around the corner from my house.
Know what though Amber? Catholic school was wayyyy 'rougher' than public in my experience. I was scared going to public school for the first time, but it turned out I was wayyy more experienced at being a 'bad girl' than any of the friends I met there....hehe
Graduated in 1988...after 3 years in a Christian High School, I got to go to public school my senior year...I miss skipping class every Friday
*giggle*
My first Gf was a catholic schoolgirl.
She was a fucking nympho from hell.
I can remember times we fucked so much in a days time.
It would get hard and was just numb.
She's sit on it and ride away while I watched T.V.
No joke either..lol
Dated her for like 3 years.
Damn..I wonder what ever happened to her?
last I heard, she was a Prof at Indiana State Univ.
Would be nice to have her around now..lol
1985 Woooo!
I've was helping my parents out today delivering flowers for their flower shop, and had to take a delivery to my old HS. I hadn't been there since I graduated.
I felt so fucking old.
I hated the 80's with a passion. Ronald Reagan was President, kids were just saying no and Twisted Sister was considered heavy metal. Bon Scott got me thru it alive, god bless AC/DC.
I don't think our culture woke back up til Nirvana came out.
