Russian attack submarine sailed in Gulf of Mexico undetected for weeks U.S. officials blah blah blah
|

American troops in Russia and China?
|
This article is incorrect and misleading. It says Russian submarine was off the coast of the US in the Gulf Of Mexico without our knowledge. The truth is there was most likely a lot more trips that we just don't know about.
We do it all the time to Russia.... |

No submarine runs silent. Sounds like the navy going waaaaahhhh! you're taking away some of our budget waaaaahhhh! we won't be able to afford so many toys waaaaahhhh! big bad Russia will kill you while you sleep because we can't protect you without more money and it will serve you right waaaaahhhh!

It's a shame but I'm more scared of the US than Russia...

It isn't that they operate silent, it's that sound underwater doesn't flow in a straight line, knowledge of that can get you past all sorts of detection. And shit like this could start up a new cold war |

That boat is an Akula or Акула which google translate will tell you is "shark" but in actuality is specifically this:

When it comes to subs I think the US got the bulk of that technology too, being as the Soviet Union's Navy during WWII did pretty much nothing of consequence. Vendzilla would know more about this. |

It's total semantics given one could easily talk about being distracted with Korea at the time. I simply think that as they had a physical passage to the epicenter it must have offered a greater advantage. Much like the nuclear history of Ukraine, and what went missing. Granted the Americans never left, it's hard to say. It really was divided. The question is the relative size of the pieces. That nuclear stuff was one of two things, physical or theoretical. |
Isent that what submarines are supposed to do?

The space race (first Earth satellite and first man in the space) was won by the USSR. The USA won the Moon race only. This is just one of many way stations in the endless road to stars (Moon, Mars, first exoplanet outside the Solar System etc...) P.S. Nazi not just "helped" the USA. They have built all the US space program from the scratch. Wernher von Braun the key person in the US space programs was a Nazi SS officer. I doubt the USA had a successful space program without him. |

US foreign policy is atrocious enough in reality; exaggerated maps like that are counterproductive. |

This my boat, look up USS Tautog and see some history. During WWII, Subs made up 2% of the fleet and sank over half the ships |

I love "Its Obama's fault" underline.
According to my Navy veteran friend, Russian subs use somewhat different but risky technology and can dive deeper and go a bit faster than US subs. Is it true Zilla? |

You guys need to ask theking what the deal is. His direct line to the White House and Pentagon contacts will get you sorted out.

They had a lot of different kinds of subs and they all had their purposes, going deeper or going faster really doesn't mean anything when you look at the firepower of a modern submarine. It's about tech and a crew that can use it. There is a thing out there called a convergence zone, a good sonar tech can park a loud sub there and no one can hear it |

The Russians also won the Kill A Dog In Space Race. Congrats.

Can you explain how we whooped it if first satellite was Soviet, first man in space was from Ussr, first landing on the moon was done by soviets as well. And now US is forced to fly on Russian rockets because our own are complete garbage. |
