Best quality/speed compromise for pictures
Hello! :)
For a paysite what the best loading speed and quality ratio for pictures? I know my 30 mo raw/Cr2 are to big but what about 5-6 mo jpeg in 3744 x 5616? gonna be to much for most customer internet speed? I want them to have premium quality but not have to wait for the pictures to load like in 1995 :P Thanks for your advices Patrick |
if its inside a paysite members area u should really offer multiple sizes. some like high quality and dont mind waiting... some just want to quickly browse (and if they're on laptop/small screen they wouldn't need high quality)

I wrote a code in past for similar solution, I described it here:
http://kazymjir.com/blog/image-resizing-php-class/ A bit messy code wrote fast, but at least it works :) You will need only to adjust JPEG quality, find it in the code. |
Thanks a lot for the reply :) I gonna go with the choose your quality path and give them medium and high quality.
Also thanks for the code that resize them for mobile version, it a really nice idea that I will try to implant. |
