This is a first - Just got a note from my neighbours....

It was an apology letter for their daughter - She screams all the time and they offered to pay for a night away for me to make up for the problems.

To be honest its an old house with thick walls, I am not that bothered by it.

I will polity refuse but what a great thing to do.

I might even offer them a night away and pay for a baby sitter - Although they will have to wait a couple of months :Oh crap

HammerALL 08-13-2012 07:23 AM

At least they were proactive about it. My neighbors kids scream, run, and basically make noise all the time and it's brutal. I just try and be out of the house (run errands, go to the gym etc) when they are not at daycare.

Spunky 08-13-2012 07:24 AM

That was nice of them, rarely see that nowadays

lucas131 08-13-2012 07:25 AM

tell them she can reward you 18 years later

Do they try and stop her? Or do what some parents do and do nothing about it?

Rochard 08-13-2012 10:37 AM

I don't hear a peep out of my neighbors. One of my neighbors has a pool and every so often I hear their kids swimming, but I'm cool with that. My kid goes over there all the time and I kind of like the background noise.

Sly 08-13-2012 10:39 AM

Until recently, there was a guy living above me that had a few small kids. They would visit one or two weekends a month. I was so tempted to buy them weekend passes to the water park on numerous occasions.

Dude, its Amerika, you cant do anything to kids these days without being taken away by Child Protective Services, we had an incident here a few weeks back where a woman sternly told her child in a grocery store to stand up and stop acting like a baby (not shouting, no spanking no physical contact whatsoever and the kid was throwing a tantrum on the floor) and the store manager went up to her and told her he was going to call protective services.

Its a crazy world when parents cant discipline their children for fear of being arrested and labeled a child abuser :(

Thats what is currently wrong with society over here, kids are allowed to do whatever they want, with no form of reprisal for their actions hell, some even get rewarded for being bad by being taken on state paid for vacations as 'community service' kids should be spanked and scolded when they misbehave, they should also be spanked and scolded randomly for no reason at all just to let them know what is in store *should* they misbehave maybe we'd have a lot less pregnant teens and single mothers and criminals going through the legal system.

If i even talked back to my mom when i was a teen dad would beat me, i deserved it and it made me into the person i am today, respect your elders and other people, you'll get a lot further in life than the local jail and state penitentiary.

I think the thread starter is English.

But yes i agree with what you are saying. I started a thread on here a few days ago about some guests we had in my home and the parents basically let him away with doing what the hell he wanted.

That shit won't be happening in here again...

Ah, i didn't think England was as bad as we were about parents disciplining their kids.

That thing with the guest and child happened here ONCE... Now any of our friends with children under the age of 14 are told they are REQUIRED to find a babysitter or somewhere for their kids to go because they aren't welcome here. You'd actually be surprised at how many parents totally 'get' the reason why and are more than happy to accommodate getting a few hours away from their own demon spawn... Even my sister wont bring my niece over when she visits because she knows ill give her shit about it if Kelsey misbehaves... I'm definitely not a 'child' person and all of our friends know it.

My nearest neighbor is a rooster, fucker wakes me up every day.
Used to be a cow in the cowshed opposite, she was nice, the occasional moooo.... but always quite at night. She's in the freezer now though.

Thats nice of them - Instead of taking / refusing the night out, suggest instead that they use the money for a babysitter, and have a night out themselves?

Good Karma creating them some good Karma etc? :thumbsup

anexsia 08-13-2012 01:21 PM

My neighborhood is always really quiet...wish I could say the same about my dog, he snores loud as fuck.

You must not have kids.

Here's a tip...babies do what they want (especially when crying and screaming) and often don't give a fuck about what anyone else has to say about it.

TheSquealer 08-13-2012 01:42 PM

Holy Shit! In today's world, I would offer them a paid vacation for actually taking some responsibility for their child and for being considerate to others. That's some rare shit right there.

Not sure how we turned into a world where parents feel kids are supposed to be running around theaters, screaming in restaurants and telling adults and teachers to fuck off and then think you're an asshole for not wanting to be around it.

Presumably that only happened once. Otherwise, it didn't work.

Of course. The only people who have respect for others have been beaten as children. Funny how life is so simple for simpletons.

Here's a tip: those of us without kids? we don't care.

Surefire way to spoil a night out: screaming kid in the next booth.

Don't forget to take pictures of your furniture and possessions before you go. It will make the police report on what was stolen while you were away for the night a lot easier....

My neighbors killed a pig once. Not pretty sounding.

AllAboutCams 08-14-2012 04:01 AM

Nearly every sat/sun the kids over the back where i live thinks is funny to play cricket on the metal fence its fucking annoying.

spazlabz 08-14-2012 05:06 AM

society in the US was doomed the day parents started making 'play dates' for their kids WTF? Kids will find a way to play, they do not need to schedule it.

Wire metal fence to the mains - Problem solved :2 cents:

John-ACWM 08-14-2012 08:33 AM

Really impressive, rarely you can find people like that.

O MARINA 08-14-2012 10:35 AM

Wat? Have never heard of anything like this ever.
I don't know how people do it with screaming newborns. I will need another house to go to at night :1orglaugh

Jman 08-14-2012 10:42 AM
