Ultrasonic images of babies in their mother's wombs could one day be a thing of the past ? a Japanese firm is now using 3D printing technology to produce life size models of developing foetuses. http://images.ninemsn.com.au/resizer....jpg&width=310 Tokyo's Hiro-o Ladies clinic has teamed up with 3D printing company Fasotec to offer the world first "Tensi no Katachi" or "Face of an Angel" service which costs up to $1200, Mashable reports. A Fasotec spokesman said three expecting mothers were the first to try the innovative service that launched on July 30. "They said it felt great to see how their babies looked before birth and to be able to actually hold the inside of their own body," Tomohiro Kinoshita said. The clinic currently offers models of the entire baby in the womb or a specific body part, like the baby's head. It also makes miniature 3D model foetuses that can be hung from mobile phones. The service is recommended for mothers who are not far from their delivery date as the later the model is made the more developed the foetus will be. |
