Are freehost blogs worth it today...
 

I just took a look at my freehost blogs and man oh man they took a shit and a half from these google updates. Almost to the point of not even being worth it with less than 100 hits a month on most. I guess its time to say bye bye freehosts. Even for the lil bit of extra traffic if its not getting 10 hits a day its prob not worth it right? Meaning using it for just link backs prob dont carry as much weight as they did in past.

I have some free hosted blogs that make me a good amount of sales. Just shoot for the micro-niches.

I got a site on Blogspot/Blogger that got crazy love from Google lately.

Im running several auto blogs on my network, freeadultwp.com, and have them connected to twitter. Pulling a few hundred hits a day. Check out the blog on the site for a write up on how to set it up.

I think it's worth it if you can fit them in between your other work. You can make some quick/easy ones that can potentially add some extra sales, links, traffic to your main blogs.

Its not that using a freehost is worthless, its just the blogs most people build on a freehost are worthless

I saw a thread somewhere else about a guy starting a blog empire only on free blogs and makes around $2,000 a month. But I have no idea where I saw the thread, I know some people talked about it here before.

If you build one and treat it like a real blog and get backlinks, trades, update often, etc it will do just as well as a real one...

If you automate, it might make sense. Randomization and feed-driven publishing. Also automate link building. Less than 10 hits per blog might not make sense if you only have one blog. However, if you have thousands, it might yield some coin--depending on how you monetize :)
