I've heard that we should shoot for having around 300,000 hits per day. Does anyone do this? right now our main site www.lilcandy.com gets an average of 1,300 hits per day. How is everyone else doing?

When I used to travel with girlfriends to shoot, a guy in Florida told me that If I wanted my sites to make good money I would need around 300k hits per day "I had no sites at this time" It was about 5 years ago. We are on gfy so I doubt there will be many truthful answers, but just thought I'de ask.
LilCandy.com gets about 1,300 hits per day, not enough to buy a new house and benz, but pays for our bills and two full time employees. I could only imagine 300K quality hits....lolComment

Only 1300 uniques a day? Including affiliates?? Wow, thats a very low amount. Looks like you fail on branding.

I don't consider your site to be a fail at all. You own a paysite, you have content and an asset that is worth something. You are making money off of a small amount of traffic and enough to pay two full time employees is nothing to snicker at. I don't know much about this stuff but I'd venture to say with a little bit of the right marketing tactics you could be doing much more. Do you do anything with youtube for branding? Facebook? Twitter? Vimeo? Hulu? Tubes? A lil exposure could go a long way. Keep up the good work. You are far more successful than me in this internet game.

Well, 1300 uniques a day it's very low i must say.
But, if you can pay all bills and keep two full time employee's paid a fail from this, its a great result.
That mean you have amazing ratio, and you need to think more about how to get traffic.Comment

Have a some vids on a few tubes and Candy has a twitter account, but havn't pushed everything hard yet. Being a small company we are still working on building sites and promo tools for affiliates, Also I still have to keep shooting/editing content. There is not enough time in the day.... We push a lot of different products, around 50 different sponsors per day (some of ours), but most are only co-brand/white label or custom landing page (like freecamsexposed.com)
We average 5-10 millions hits per day in July... it pays some bills too
Different traffic generation but mostly its from ads the we bought and affiliate traffic
This automn we plan to reach the 10-20m hits bracket daily

i've never heard of 300k as a ball park figure, there is no figure, it's only quality that counts. Most of our sites average 15-40k uniques per day each, our solo sites convert a hell of a lot better than our multi model sites as the traffic that reaches the solo site is usually qualified as they are into the model which is why yours works also. we recently launched a new solo girl site: paigeturnah.com - it has been converting at around 1:150 for overall traffic (natural and affiliate combined), traffic is still low but growing steadily, very hard to get an instant traffic boom from launch via affiliates as many sites are no longer manned, just on auto pilot, i wish i could get 300k uniques on that site!ICQ: 404-159-022

I guess I'm the little shit around here. My bigger paysites only get in the 5000 range but I also have my small guys that get less than 500. Sounds like that makes me small fish in the small pond. LOL, Oh well my bills are all getting paid and I live a comfortable lifestyle.Comment

I dont say the site is a failure, I say the branding is probably a failure as I know the site has been online for some time (2 years?) and 1300/day is extremely low number. If I owned a paysite I would send at least 4-5k a day from just tgp/tube submission on my own, not counting affiliates, type ins, link exchanges, review sites, paid ads etc.no sig, sorryComment
