WFTBucks Spamming my Eurorevenue email!

Helen the Spammer is at it again.

Just got another email from WTFBucks this time they are spamming one of my email addresses that was only used for Eurorevenue! It's kind of obscure and unless I gave it out nobody would know it existed :321GFY

2012 07-26-2012 12:33 PM

i heard they'll buy your domain and let you put a blog on it, further allowing you to build it up at no cost to you

ShoeBox 07-26-2012 12:33 PM

sweet i want the domain wtfbuckssux

Nicky 07-26-2012 01:26 PM

Well, I can guarantee that we here at EuroRevenue don't have anything to do with this. They must have found the email some other way.

Barefootsies 07-26-2012 03:25 PM

They are not the first, nor will be the last.

Switch to decaf.

:2 cents:

u-Bob 07-26-2012 03:50 PM

Did the email include a reference to the site you listed when you joined eurorevenue?

Freedom6995 07-26-2012 04:11 PM

I got two emails from wtfbucks. One from Helen and one from someone else that doesn't speak English all that well, and I've never signed up for Eurorevenue.

Freaky_Akula 07-26-2012 04:27 PM

They must be buying or hacking affiliate databases. I have received a lot of spam from Helen and every email went to an email address I used for another affiliate program.

Given that I've been getting their spam as well and always sent to addresses I used to join other programs, I guess you are right.

I always use a unique email address for every program I join. I never use that address for anything else. Those unique addresses each contain a unique random number or string so it's impossible they just guessed the addresses. And in the case of for example the spam they sent to the addresses I used to join niceratios and lordsofporn, they also mentioned the exact sites I listed in my profile when I joined those programs.

BaldBishop 07-26-2012 06:39 PM

Yes, their spam campaign is starting to get very annoying.

Konda 07-26-2012 07:01 PM

They probably used a hole in an old version of Nats 3 to gather the email addresses.
Probably not them, but the guy they bought the data from.

adultchatpay 07-26-2012 07:20 PM

I got this email few days ago:

Wtf, i don't even have a friendster account. lol

iwantchixx 07-26-2012 07:33 PM

try to find an unsubscribe, if none exists, hit them with a canspam complaint. If they do have one and do not honor it, hit them again with a canspam complaint. Although that will do little to deter those who thinks it's an "acceptable" practice to do these types of spams .. it gets something started anyways and if enough people file complaints, they will get fined heavily.

I actually abandoned my previous primary email account last year because of program spam. It got entirely out of hand. Up to 500 emails a day at the end of it.

DamianJ 07-27-2012 03:39 AM

If they spam webmasters like this, imagine the horror of being a customer...

u-Bob 07-30-2012 07:51 AM

I also just received one of their spam mails sent to my eurorevenue address and it mentions the site I have in my eurorevenue profile.

BAKO 07-30-2012 08:05 AM

You are missing the point. The important issue here is not that spam (which is annoying but can be dealt with), but the fact that those spammers have access to the info affiliates supplied when they joined other affiliate programs.

So as others pointed out, there are 2 possibilities. Either they bought the dbs from those affiliate programs or they hacked the dbs.

In this case, Nicky said Eurorevenue has nothing to do with it and Nicky has always been a straight shooter. So the question becomes: did the spammers hack a few affiliate programs? Did the spammers buy the info from people who hacked into a few affiliate programs? If the spammers or the people they bought the info from hacked into those affiliate programs, how did they get in? Is there another bug in NATS that can be exploited to gain access to affiliate profiles or did they gain access in another way? If they gained access in another way, what kind of access did they manage to get?

2MuchMark 07-30-2012 08:51 AM

We received the email too.

Freaky_Akula 07-30-2012 08:54 AM

If the program did not sell your address, but the spammer has access to that information, we should assume the program has been compromised.

Matyko 08-06-2012 09:20 AM

Bump for the fucking spammers :pimp #2

Nicky 08-06-2012 09:24 AM

I'll be looking into this more. We have not sold any affiliate email lists etc.

Matyko 08-06-2012 09:27 AM

hey eurorevenue! please make a post ASAP about the OP: how they got that address? They are now spamming my private primary address :( GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

DamianJ 08-06-2012 11:21 AM

It's clear they are either hacking, or buying data from someone who has hacked.

Eitherway, means they went onto my shitlist some time ago.

If they got the emails, and the URL people used when they sign up to a program, perhaps they also got names, addresses and payment details.

bns666 08-06-2012 01:55 PM

i am sure this helen is a real person :)

Maybe they can even modify the info.

candyflip 08-06-2012 03:04 PM

She got the contact for me from a site that hasn't been up in about 5 years.

Sure. :1orglaugh

If you cannot see the problem, you are an idiot.

Yup. Some DB was hacked. Emailed me about a site that has no direct email or my name on it. It was actually a big TGP I used to run. Interesting how this is working out.

Konda 08-06-2012 08:13 PM

Seems like multiple Nats 3 databases were compromised. They probably didn't patch their shit in time.

fuck wtf bucks in the ass!

ClaireMonroe 08-07-2012 12:12 AM

I just received the same message referencing the domain name that I don't market anywhere. But if an affiliate is following dirty tactics to get emails there is no telling what they'll do. Being sneaky this way makes me not want to sign up.

anexsia 08-07-2012 12:18 AM

Here's a good one from WTF Buck's website:

Nicky 08-07-2012 03:12 AM

Still looking into this. In the mean time we are moving to Nats 4.1

Nicky, good move upgrading to NATS4.1 :thumbsup

Dirty F 09-05-2012 01:24 PM

This is quite big. They should be sued.
Can't believe they are still allowed to spam their shit here every other day. They are criminals.
And the fucked up part is they act as if they did nothing wrong and continue business as usual.

Freaky_Akula 09-05-2012 01:37 PM

Freaky_Akula 09-05-2012 02:03 PM

Out of all the program owners that got hacked, xxxjay made the most noise, but in the end no one will sue those thieves.

London Banker 09-05-2012 02:14 PM

so did they somehow hack into the NATS database? or did they hack each program individually?

ShoeBox 09-05-2012 02:51 PM

they never defined if they hacked or bought the accounts so they probably did hack them
