Has anyone done any Multi-level marketing with a website?
Example. Find a very social and specific niche.
Charge Person A 35 a month. They refer their friends in their niche and for each person A referrers they get 10 dollars credit to where they can actually make money. You cut person A a check each month. |
Roger did this. I think it is still around.

Nope never been done...

A friend of mine is starting a website like this. I've never heard of it.

Not implying anything, there may well be legitimate variants. However, when you make money based on the bet that other people down in a pyramid will stay in business, you are at best taking serious risks. :2 cents::2 cents: |

Its a Poozi scheme... :thumbsup |
I partner with someone on some projects and he wanted to implement a slightly modified MLM campaign on a couple of mainstream sites we have, and while I really disagree with it, it actually is very effective and helped things become an automated machine, but I still do have really mixed feelings about it.
If you are planning on going with this approach, as with anything make sure you offer people the proper metrics so they can track things and set up a proper FAQ or explanation of how it works otherwise you'll have a lot of angry people on your hands. This is my first post and I read gfy often and hope I can contribute something. |
I have some soap you should buy, magnets too!
|
The idea is timeless, if you like to stick people with fees and charges.
It works :thumbsup |

I joined one in about 1995 which sold web hosting, autoresponders, commission was 6 levels deep for affiliates I can't remember the name though. Then I joined a better one a few years later called virtualisystems which had commission only one level deep (like most adult programs give 5-10% or so for referring) and made a killing until hosting.com bought them out and screwed affiliates.
|
That would make sense for some types of mainstream niches - financial content maybe. However, for porn, I highly doubt it. People want to keep their adult content viewing private, right?
