Wiring money to a savings account
 

Someone just told me it can't be done... I haven't received a wire in years and can't remember what type of accounts I had, but, I'm pretty sure there's no reason in the world a savings account wouldn't take a wire.... right?

Savings accounts have restrictions on them. They were not created to use as a checking account, they were created to use as a savings account. I'm not sure whether or not they can accept wires, but I would not be surprised if they can't.

Should be no problem, but each bank can set those kinds of rules if they wanted.

Jesus on the moon.. do checking accounts generally have a limit on them??

I bank at two different banks. One is Regions and you can have money wired into the savings. Another is just a local bank and you can not accept wires or direct deposits so I think it varies from one bank to another.

I would be quite surprised if this was true. Why aren't you asking your bank instead of GFY?

You probably need to call your bank anyway to get the routing information. Kill two birds.

I can wire money to my savings account. No problem. But I don't use a USA bank, so...
