Google can be fucking creepy...

I have a billion gmail/Google Accounts so I never really notice this shit, but I'm logged into the gmail I used for years and wanted to see if a company I worked for about 7 years ago is still holding the rank I got them on the best industry single term keyword.

I type in the keyword into Google and they come up #5 (had them at 2) but right beneath that it says I've visited the site 5 times since 2007.

I can see keeping a history on someone, but going back five fucking years?

Yeah I know I can disable it (I think at least), but that caused me to pause and really think about the tracks we leave.

Google wants to be the taxman. Same as every other Jew that ever went into business.

Colmike9 07-17-2012 07:24 PM

Google knows more about you than you do..

I think by law they have to eventually 'forget' that info after a few years, according to Larry Page.

I for one embrace our new robot overlords.

freecartoonporn 07-17-2012 07:43 PM

offtopic., but when i deleted my facebook account and downloaded the entire account thing, then i realized they are very evil. they know more about us than we do.

if google and facebook comes together and starts linking people data., then we are screwed.

Five years isn't the magic number apparently.

If Google wanted to they could get that info from anyone using Chrome I bet. Anyone smart and analyzing outgoing data packets would eventually catch it though.

You can "pause" the history, but you can't stop it...

Google is and has been buying Facebook data.

FlowerKid 07-17-2012 09:41 PM

I have to say it once more, the Google is an asshole.

I've been thinking that all this facebook picture tagging of people's faces must be gold to intelligence agencies around the world. Feed that data into their facial recognition software and their job becomes much easier.

I remember watching an interview with some (ex?)-spook on RT about things like FB and he said FB is the kind of system every intelligence service in the world has been dreaming of. And that was a few years ago.

Doesn't look like anyone gave you the pat on the back you were looking for: good job on teaching them to maintain their keyword dominance over such a long period.

anexsia 07-18-2012 05:02 AM

I love Google...I thank Google every time I have friends over that use my computer. It's always exciting to watch them search Google for "new patio furniture" and Google asks "Do you mean Nude College Sluts partying on furniture?" or typing in facebook on the search bar and "Face Fucked Whores" shows up.

Three.Thousand 07-18-2012 05:08 AM

Yet no one forces us to use their services...imagine that.

Nothing is free in this world (except stolen content apparently), u just don't pay G with cash, but rather personal info.

I truly believe the idea internet is built around and what everyone seem to expect, that everything should be free, is very flawed.
