How far do you live from a datacenter?

Just curious, how far do you live from a DC? One that you could just drive to if needed, to manage your own servers. Do you know what their cost is for a 1u rackspace with 1Mbps?

1 hour away.

Very convenient for weekend maintenance trips.

Newark and NYC Level 3 NOC.

Actually, it'd be even better if I could just drive to the nearest DC and use their connection for about 1 hour, in case of a remote drive failure. I'll have to email and see if they do anything like that. Anyone know?

I am hosted in Seatle and I'm all the way down here in central California. Never even been to actually touch my server, who cares it always works.

About a mile and a half. Earthlink has one and they offer colocation services.

Gotta request a quote for pricing.

With Managed Hosting out there these days and the cost of servers really not worth "owning" anymore .. why bother?

While I have had both colocation and managed ... I can tell you, I would *MUCH* rather have managed hosting with a great provider that dealing with its 2am the server shit the bed and I have to get up and figure out what's up with it...
