Does anyone barter on Craigslist?
 

I have some jewelry that I should get rid of. I never got around to it because I figured I would not get much at a pawn shop. I have heard a lot about people trading on Craigslist. Thinking that might be a way to get decent value out of the jewelry.

Anyone do this before?

Should I get the jewelry "certified" first? I know there are jewelry graders. It does have a few diamonds in it.

Gold, silver and bartering works. Any other type of jewelry doesn't unless its a rolex or something along those lines.

Even when you try to sell something, the fucker will turn it into a bartering session. I've told a couple of cheap bastards on Craigslist to fuck off, because it's easy to be a tough guy on the internet.

Sounds like a good idea actually. I need my palm trees trimmed, I may try this out.

I've sold on Craigslist close to a dozen times, and every time got what I wanted (or more) under my terms. I always hear of bad Craigslist stories from others, but I have done very well with buys and sells. I don't really think it's market dependent either, because I have done it in three completely different markets.

Well, I figure I don't have much to lose. I'm going to give it a shot. Will post my results!
