why does everyone jam up the fast lane?
 

where i live, the fast lane is the slow lane, & the slow lane is the fast lane, because 80% of the cars are in the fast lane but not passing anybody.

i watch youtubes of the autobahn, & the fucking germans know how to drive...move aside for passing traffic!

but not in this country, full of fucktards...

Slowpokes clogging up the passing lane(s) and forcing everyone else to do figure eight's to get around them may well be the leading cause of highway pileups.

In Germany the cops aggressively ticket morons like that. American cops really need to start doing the same.

Yep, if they are not going the Speed Limit, Move to the right for the cars wanting to do the speed limit.

That would be awesome.
They fine both if you fail to keep right or pass on right.

Even if they are doing the speed limit, unless the slow lane is really s-l-o-w, they should cut to the right from time to time to let the faster cars go by. Doing so would make for a much safer trip for everybody.

Good point. Its getting hard just to merge onto the highway nowadays.

the real kick in my balls is when someone is not quite passing you, then you approach an on-ramp with a car coming on, & suddenly slow guy in the fast lane decides its the perfect time to speed up & put you in a pinch. That drives me nuts.

Much of the reason is obviously lousy American driving, but the other part of it the high traffic density. At some point, there's simply not much room in the right-hand lane, especially if there are many on ramps. Also, people in the passing lane tend to drive closer together leading to slower, erratic flow than the right-hand lane.

Even the autobahn, despite the lore, isn't all clear sailing these days - some portions of it have speed limits and experience high amounts of traffic.

Most Americans don't understand that the passing lane, when there's relatively little traffic, is for passing only. Even if one needs to exceed the speed limit slightly, that's generally permissible (law / interpretation vary from state to state), to get back into the travel lane.

I've seen, on numerous occasions, state troopers in New Jersey pull people over for camping in the left-hand lane. So there's hope.

Unfortunately, in Pennsylvania, despite the passing law being somewhat similar to that of NJ, seems anything goes with the state police turning a blind eye, other than often tailgating the driver until they move over - at least that's how it is in the eastern part of the state.

you have? i drive a busy section of the garden state parkway almost weekly & that road is a fucking jungle. Jersey drivers don't just merge onto a highway, they rocket launch straight into the fast lane...where i soon pass them in the slow lane as they get held up by every other driver in the state being in the fast lane.

All over the world there are too many assholes on the streets.

I live where eve pickup truck has a rebel flag on it. There's much worse than speed & inconsideration.
