This is the first I have heard anyone mention it. I predict it will continue . . . . hope so anyway.

Death penalty is a great idea in principle... if it was applied equally. However, given the process, that's not the reality. So I don't know whether it's a good idea as it exists...

This is the problem if you execute and as mce says, it's not applied evenly. Those with expensive lawyers have a better chance of getting off. How many on Death Row and just poor? nothing to do with race, it's all about money.

Murdering someone because they murdered someone makes no sense.

Letting the murderer go free to feel the wrath of the family members seems like a better solution. If someone murdered your loved one, you should have the right out of "temporary insanity" to murder that person in anyway that will bring comfort and justice to the victim.

So in a way that is still allowing the State to murder so I guess the only solutions is yes, kill the fucker.

Kill them is letting them off too easy. Put them in a dark cold damn cell, feed them nothing but bread and water, no visitors, and don't let them see the light of day again until the day they die.

Much better.

And if later it's discovered it was the wrong man. The family of the wrong man can do the same to the the family of the murdered man?

What recourse is there for the person executed and later found to be innocent?
